Join us for the opening of The Determined traveling exhibit, which traces four centuries of Black history in Virginia through the stories of extraordinary individuals who fought for equality and, in doing so, helped define our shared American ideals.
As a complement, the Local History/Special Collections Branch will present a PowerPoint highlighting Alexandria’s own stories of extraordinary individuals whose lives and legacies shaped the city's journey toward equality.
The traveling exhibit from the Virginia Museum of History and Culture highlights the stories of Black Virginians who fought against injustice. The exhibition will be up from Sept. 24 until Oct. 25.
