Is there any problem with reading a book from an omnibus/anthology/collection? I have one that I've read the other two stories, but not the final in the omnibus version (which is what I have access to).

Does the final book in the omnibus have its own page here on Goodreads? If it does, then I would say okay. We need to verify page count.

Question - read a book with food or drink on the coverDoes this have to be the version we read, or can we use any of the editions?

Would you accept it generally or only in memoirs if it's in the afterword, dedication or acknowledgements?
And how about variations of those?
In one of the books I want read soon the only one is gratefully and in another one greatfulness (I was convinced at first it should be gratitude instead and was very surprised that the Kindle dictionary - the American English one - actually had a definition for it, so it looks like it's actually a word; again learned something new that day I discovered it). So depending on your verdict I'll either keep them until they fit a task or I'll read them in-between :-D
For the task:1) Name a friend you are grateful for - read a book from a teammate's Goodreads shelf
Does this include books on their to-read shelf? Or does it have to be a book they've read?
Agnieszka wrote: "Would you accept it generally or only in memoirs if it's in the afterword, dedication or acknowledgements?"
Anywhere in the text of the book.
Agnieszka wrote: "And how about variations of [grateful and gratitude]?"
Let's stick with those two words.

Great, thank you!
I have rolled a 3 and a 1 read a book with two words in the title that begin with the same letter
Quick question can it be any length of title as long as 2 words begin with same letter ?or does it need to be a 2 word title?

For task 1:1 -- If a teammate has an omnibus on her list, do I have to read that all the exact book, or can I read ONE of the books included in that omnibus? For example:
The Good Soldier Jack Noble #1 & 2 (series)
The Good Soldier: Noble Beginnings / A Deadly Distance (title on GR page)
I have the Kindle version of Noble Beginnings and would like to read that, which would be volume 1 only.

Great!
Im reading a book in a book set which has a much shorter page number than the ‚official’ one on GR for the single book edition (both are more than 200 pages for the Kindle edition).1. Should I include the actual page number or the one from the main page of the single book edition in my completion post?
2. And would you treat this the same way for the tasks requesting a particular number in page number (or publication date)?

For tasks that require a certain number in the page or publication date, it needs to be verifiable. So, using a 'real' page number instead of the one cited here on Goodreads won't work. Although it is wrong, please use the page number given on the book's main page.

FYI, if the actual book record for the **exact same ISBN** is different on Amazon or the publisher's website, a librarian can change the page number in Goodreads. Like Lanelle says, we can only change the number of pages on the whole box set, again if it's different. You can request this in the librarian's group or I can do it. I reiterate that I can't change the pages of the box set unless the whole thing is different but that won't help you.

Another clarification needed, please. We rolled 2:1--
+3 points read a book with '3' in the page count or publication date; your team gains 3 points
Does publication date mean anywhere in the GR date (e.g., day) OR is it anywhere in the YEAR?
Kathy KS wrote: "Does publication date mean anywhere in the GR date (e.g., day) OR is it anywhere in the YEAR?"
Anywhere in the entire date. Like: January 3, 2024, or March 4, 2024, or January 4, 2023. Any of these examples will work.

YAY! That opens up a lot of possibilities. Let’s hope one of my first two favorites have a 3 in publication date (had none in page number) :-D

Thanks for clarifying.
Lanelle - can you verify how this task works? rolled: 4, 2
2) +1 point - read a book with '1' in the page count or publication date; your team gains 1 point
I get the the task is to read a book with 1 in page count/publication, but is the +1 point for each book read (4) or just one extra point for the week?

One extra point for the week. So, if each person on the team reads a book, and each book has the bonus word in the text, then your team will get 9 points. 4 + 4 + 1 = 9

Hi Lanelle, I am enjoying the game. Do we know which team is in the lead so far, or is there some kind of scoreboard?

Thank you.
That's something I've been meaning to do, but stuff keeps getting in the way and then I forget :(
I'll post a scoreboard in the 1st message on the reporting thread tomorrow after the last team gets their report in for the past Week.
Thank you.

Scores have been added to Message 1 of the Reporting thread. Hopefully I didn't make any mistakes :)

For 2,2 - Name a place you are grateful for - read a book about or set somewhere you have lived or visited - how specific do we need to be? does it have to be a city/town, or could it be state/province or country?

Thanks for hosting this Lanelle. You always have such clever ideas. I can't wait for the next challenge. TY so much and Happy Thanksgiving!
