Awesome. I'm just starting my voodoo book, and about 3/4 through LotR 😁

I'm done with Chucky! There's a few out of comfort zone books coming up for me in the next turf, so I'll hang on to those until later in the round, as they may come in handy for the next toy 😆
I got my longer book done, so I should finish my voodoo one faster. Neither are good audio so that made them a bit slower.
If Lexi finishes her last one before I finish Weyward (not gotten far into it) I can swap out I shorter one I did on audio that fits so well can flip the item over
I won't finish today as I still need to get work done tonight for a presentation tomorrow and vacuum if it doesn't get too late that I would piss off the people below me.
I worked until ten pm but got everything done at least. No reading or vacuuming but at least didn’t stay up late.
I think it went ok (not brilliant but some days ok is enough). Thankfully just done working now so I get to vacuum tonight and hopefully read.
My cousin has been here the past couple days the help out and take me to my follow up appointment this afternoon.I’ve gotten zero reading done because we’ve just been hanging out and talking
Hope your appointment goes well and no worries. It is great you have family to help. I’m not done with my book either though I’ll be done tomorrow at the latest.
Got my boot yesterday! still non weight bearing for at least 4 more weeks. But all the staples were taken out and not much swelling. I can take a real shower today, which is the most exciting thing. The doctor was happy with how everything is looking. And so was my cousin who took me to the appointment. She's a nurse so it's nice to have that reassurance from someone who actually knows what things are supposed to look like.
Oh I remember the first real shower! Glorious!! The rest of the household was pleased too 😆 Enjoy! Glad everything is looking ok. just keep it elevated as much as you can over the next few weeks. you'll be glad you did when time comes to wear shoes again!
I finished my books so up to you Judith if you want to switch out your smaller book or finish your current book.
I just finished the longer book this morning. I just had a hard time wanting to read it. I sort of can see why so many people liked it but it just didn't do it for me.Will get us checked in
I get women have been treated like crap in different and similar ways throughout history. But this didn’t have the payoff in my opinion to make it worth reading all the bad
Even during the times women were at their most oppressed, there were still good and kind men in the world. That book made every man out to be a rapist ****head.I really wish more feminists would write books that raise up women without putting down men. Two wrongs don't make a right and all...

An ancient, cursed spinning wheel with an eerie, hypnotic rhythm that draws in anyone who comes near. When touched or used, it traps the user’s soul within a never-ending dreamscape, a labyrinth of shadows and illusions spun from the witch’s dark magic.
The spindle’s fibers weave nightmares that feel impossibly real, imprisoning the victim’s spirit in a realm between sleep and waking. Time becomes twisted, and escape is nearly impossible without breaking the curse. Meanwhile, the body remains motionless in the real world, lost in the spindle’s sinister dream web.
This spinning wheel is both a tool of fate and imprisonment, a symbol of a witch’s power to control destiny and trap souls in eternal slumber.
Complete the following tasks:
🪞2. Fairytale Shadows
Read a chain of 3 books with a retelling or reimagining of a fairy tale, myth, or classic story — Sleeping Beauty optional, but very on-theme.
🧙♀️3. The Witch Is the Main Character
Read a chain of 3 books where the main character is a witch or warlock — potion brewers, dark seers, or charming hexers all welcome.
✨4. MPG: Magic
Read a chain of 3 books listed under Magic as a Main Page Genre. If there’s spellwork, enchantment, or magical training — you’re in.
Ok, have added my books. sorry about the low pagecounts, but between turf and the fact that I don't have much in the way of retellings or witches, I've got what I've got. At least I have the out of comfort zone sewn up for this toy! 😆
LOL, at least retellings are quite my favorite. But I do read a lot of in these genres so out of my comfort zone isn't the easiest for me.
I've finished my two shorter ones, but will be a couple of days with the last one, as it's down day for turf tomorrow.
That's me done for this one. In the highly unlikely event that I'll come across a higher point witch or retelling book before you guys finish, I'll switch it out, but it isn't likely!
My witch book was actually a sorceress in the book. The word witch was never used. She did curse someone so what do you all think about using it?
I think with the description above there is a lot of leeway. If she cursed someone, that could be considered hexing, so I would be good with it personally. But that's not saying Bella will be! 😆
I finished mine and will try to find a longer one but had to drop into a shorter retelling that wasn't in a genre I normally read
15. The Lament Configuration

The Lament Configuration is the iconic, puzzle-box-shaped artifact from the Hellraiser film series, originally created by horror writer Clive Barker. Officially known as the Lemarchand Configuration, this intricately designed cube is far more than a mechanical curiosity; it is a gateway to another dimension, one ruled by the sadistic, otherworldly beings known as the Cenobites.
Elegant yet ominous, the Lament Configuration appears as a small black and gold cube, etched with elaborate geometric patterns that shift when manipulated. Solving the puzzle is deceptively simple, but doing so summons the Cenobites, beings who exist beyond pain and pleasure, and who drag the solver into their realm for eternal torment or transcendence, depending on one’s perspective.
The box is a key to forbidden realms, often tied to themes of obsession, desire, and the consequences of seeking forbidden knowledge. In the Hellraiser universe, those who seek it out are usually searching for extreme experiences, only to find themselves overwhelmed by cosmic horror.
Mysterious, cursed, and unrelenting in its purpose, the Lament Configuration is not just a puzzle; it is an invitation, one that should never be accepted lightly.
🧊🩸 The Lament Configuration
“To solve the box is to beg for more. More sensation. More suffering. More books.”
I see you.
Your hands hover. You want to know what I hold.
But there is no curiosity without consequence.
Choose… and suffer beautifully.
🔓 Open Me
You seek truths with sharp edges.
You twist my shape and offer your mind.
I will open for you. I will hurt you kindly.
❌ Refuse Me
You close the lid and turn away.
But you touched me. I remember. I wait.
And I always find those who run.
You may change your choice.
But you must bleed for it—figuratively, of course.
Return here and ask the Toymakers for your punishment.
They’ll make sure you don’t get off easy.
🕯️ When you’re ready, post in the Occult Museum (Check-In Thread) with:

Your Choice (Open or Refuse)
A link to your team’s spreadsheet
I’ll be watching.
And once we begin… you won’t be alone in the dark.

I assume so too. Want to go ahead and post since Sammy is likely asleep and we are not here to make good choices.

You crave answers. You turn the box. You want what it offers.
Now you must spell a cursed word.
LEMARCH
*Standard Spell out.
You asked for this. Now you must complete it.

Why am I blind and not able to find the spell out rules. basically I'm trying to remember if we can use narrator for an audiobook.I know it's title, author first and last name and series.
Judith wrote: "I'm listening to the audio of The Book of Doors and the narrator is Miranda Raison."This group is only Title, Author initials (first & last only), and series name
Lexi wrote: "I assume so too. Want to go ahead and post since Sammy is likely asleep and we are not here to make good choices."Teehee! Just for the record, I'm always good with going for stuff. even if it means random curse words getting thrown at us 😆
