Listen for the Lie by Amy Tintera – 4 Stars

I didn’t know much about this book before putting it on hold at the library, but I’m very happy I did. At the heart of the book is the mystery as to what happened on the night Savvy was murdered, and whether Lucy, who was found covered in Savvy’s blood but claims she can’t remember what happened that night, was the murderer. Lucy has since moved from the small Texan town to LA, but with a huge true crime podcast Listen for the Lie looking to cover the case for its new series, Lucy soon finds herself back in the spotlight, and potentially in danger herself, depending on what she can or cannot remember. I found this book completely held my interest and I really didn’t want to put it down. There were lots of twists and turns to the story, and I thought it was very well written with an interesting and unusual protagonist. This book is Tintera’s first novel for adults, but I really hope she writes more soon.
