Absolutely nothing happens in this book. The whole premise is just insta-lust, no idea why this is tagged as HEA.
💒 Week 5 ❤️ Option 1 read a book with a character who is a wedding plannerTo Have and to Hold
5/24 3*s
❤️ MC is a wedding planner (mentioned in the blurb).
This book was released nearly nine years ago, and it really highlighted how much romances have evolved over the past decade. It wasn’t bad at all, but more recent romances offer so much more. The secondary characters are well-developed, and there’s more happening beyond just the romance. I also find that the main characters are more realistic and relatable. I’ve read many of Lauren Lane’s recent books and really enjoyed them. While this one wasn’t bad, it just didn’t reach the level of most romances today. I hope this makes sense.

I loved it! ❤️ This book left me with a smile on my face and a swoon in my heart. The setting was divine, the characters were relatable, the romance was sweet, and all the secondary characters were so much fun. Oh, and I cannot forget the dog, George Bailey. I’ve read quite a few reviews of this book where people had a problem with body image being mentioned too much. But here’s the thing: this is a real mental health disorder that many people go through on a daily basis, and I felt as though the book did a really good job of realistically depicting this. If we aren’t going to judge a book because there is a character with a substance use disorder, I don’t understand why people felt as though they needed to rate this lower because someone in the book had a mental health disorder that perhaps they don’t understand or are not comfortable with. Also, Katie’s looks were never described, so we had no idea what she looked like. She was someone who was living with body dysmorphia, and the point wasn’t what she looked like but how she felt about how she looked. As a woman, I completely relate, not to the same level, but there are a lot of unrealistic expectations surrounding body image for women and men, for that matter. Just something to think about. 😀

Honestly, one of my favourites I've read by Christie. It's written so differently than her normal works. It's more about the psychology of the characters than the mystery (which makes sense since this was published right after And Then There Were None).
Poirot does play a big role, but with minor scene time so if your expectation is to read about his every move. You'll be slightly disappointed.
Otherwise, it's a great read.

Review: I went into this book thinking it was one thing only to find it was something completely different -- that unfortunately is not really my thing. It was basically a bully romance with a love triangle so if those are up your alley, you may like this more than me!

Review: This was a good addition to this series. I loved Jeremy from the first book when he would text Ash just random things, like "Do you think a skilled barber could groom a sasquatch will enough that people would just think he was a really hairy man?" He cracked me up to no end. He is an author who is trying to get a paranormal book written & he still text's Ash random questions in this book as well. What he doesn't know is the paranormal world is real. Poor Jeremy can't seem to get just one of his 59 unfinished books finished. Nor can he seem to hold down a job. When he gets a new job, what he doesn't know that he is about to be introduced to the paranormal world. Adrian is a werewolf & when he meets Jeremy, there is just something about that human that pushes his buttons. When Jeremy finds out what Ardian in, he has a million & one questions. These two made a cute couple. So, in the first book, a bunch of magical artifacts get stolen, in this book we get some of them back. We also meet more characters that I totally enjoyed. Gage is breaking my heart. He needs to find a place to connect with, he could go insane. I'm so glad that the next book is Gage's, and we get to see him get his HEA. He is one of the sweetest demons ever.

I like the writing style, but for some reason, I had a hard time getting into the plot. I do appreciate that Harry acknowledges his fears since it's not something you see a lot in urban fantasy, but let's be realistic about how much abuse the body can take before it shuts down. The man was running around with his foot half chewed off by a werewolf and a gunshot wound in his arm. Let him lie down for a second, or I don't know, take a potion that speeds up healing. Magic aside, urban fantasy is still modern day and we have limitations.

Review: I have read books I liked from this author before, but I was not a fan. The 2 MCs have been friends for 8 years and I feel like I missed all the actual falling in love parts. Way too much of this book was repetitive internal dialogue which lead to too much telling and not enough showing. The author did set up the next MMC nicely for his book -- I'm very curious.
✨Week 8 Completion 🧚🏻♀️ option one read the second book in a series

Date: 6/12 4*s
Danielle Garrett’s paranormal cozies are simply the best! This is the second book in the series, and it’s packed with beloved characters from previous books. In this one, we meet the fairy godmothers, and let me tell you, I’ve always wanted a fairy godmother, but after reading this book, I’m not so sure. The main character, Blair, is a witch who can transform into a cat. In this book, she’s stuck in her cat form for most of the story. I loved the mystery, the blossoming romance, and all the characters. When I need an escape from reality, which is all too common these days, I can always count on a book from Miss Garrett to take me away. And let’s not forget her amazing audio narrator! 🐈 🧚 ✨

Feel like there may have been an excessive number of r*pists in this book. Kinda a strange thing to have for what I thought was going to be a light romance novel.
