Comments on this board should be written with the assumption that readers have finished the book. If you haven't finished and don't want any spoilers, you may want to wait before reading these posts.

This was a great book to start February with, I so enjoyed it. Thanks Tom, for the MOD choice, not sure why it took me so long to get to it. Fourth installment coming in March!
I loved the ending, all murders solved differently depending on who you were, with only Mick knowing the truth.

Debi Cates (debicates) | 190 comments Not sure where to put this, but Dave suggested I share with the group.

In the early 80s there aired a TV series (on PBS, I believe) "The History of Modern Southern Literature" and it has been uploaded to Youtube.

Commentators (some no longer living) include Willie Morris, Shelby Foote, Pat Conroy, Alice Walker, Nikki Giovanni, Earnest Gaines, and others. They discuss the lives, works, and tales of the greats--Faulkner, Hurston, Wolf, to name just a few.

No doubt it will make your On The Trail heart sing.

♥ Sandi ❣ | 295 comments Third book of the Mick Hardin series - Yay! - Back to Rocksalt Kentucky.

For some unexplained reason I did not like this book as much as the first two in the series. The writing was just as good, the story line feasible and I loved that Shifty was back in the story - however small the part. I thought the ending was good with only Mick knowing the full truth. But something did not hold my interest as well as the first two books.

I know the fourth in the series is almost ready to come out - The Reluctant Sheriff - and I think that with the situation we find Mick in, this upcoming book may be a bit more exciting.

I must have been dozing when I read parts of this. I missed who did two of the killings.
