Drace (dracenines) | 7863 comments There are errors with the novel Riddance by Shelley Jackson that need to be cleaned up.

1. Kindle Edition: Riddance: Or the Sybil Joines Vocational School for Ghost Speakers & Hearing-Mouth Children (ASIN B079FK2SSZ)

- According to the publisher’s website, there should be a colon after the word Or and the word “the” in the title needs to be capitalized. The title should read as follows:
Riddance: Or: The Sybil Joines Vocational School for Ghost Speakers & Hearing-Mouth Children

- The publisher should be changed to Black Balloon. Goodreads policy states that the publisher field should list the specific imprint name if applicable, and the copyright page says that it was published under the Black Balloon imprint of Catapult.

- The description is missing paragraph breaks. It should read as follows:

Eleven–year–old Jane Grandison, tormented by her stutter, sits in the back seat of a car, letter in hand inviting her to live and study at the Sybil Joines Vocational School for Ghost Speakers & Hearing–Mouth Children. Founded in 1890 by Headmistress Sybil Joines, the school—at first glance—is a sanctuary for children seeking to cure their speech impediments. Inspired by her haunted and tragic childhood, the Headmistress has other ideas.

Pioneering the field of necrophysics, the Headmistress harnesses the “gift” she and her students possess. Through their stutters, together they have the ability to channel ghostly voices communicating from the land of the dead, a realm the Headmistress herself visits at will. Things change for the school and the Headmistress when a student disappears, attracting attention from parents and police alike.

Set in the overlapping worlds of the living and the dead, Shelley Jackson’s Riddance is an illuminated novel told through theoretical writings in necrophysics, the Headmistress’s dispatches from the land of the dead, and Jane’s evolving life as Joines’s new stenographer and central figure in the Vocational School’s mysterious present, as well as its future.

Goodreads librarians: if you are unable to correct the issues with #1 and #5 due to the disastrous new policy surrounding Kindle and Audible editions, please let me know so that I can contact staff to inform them that they have to carry out Kindle/Audible edits and inform them of the errors that need to be fixed.

You should make requests for those in the Add new books section.

Drace (dracenines) | 7863 comments Thanks for your help, Bruno.

I noticed that I messed up the numbering for the thread and corrected it. What was originally #8 is actually #9.

#5 got added to the site, but some of its information is incorrect. I edited the OP to reflect the changes that need to be made.

#7 is still incomplete.

Any and all help with #5, #7, and #9 from the librarians is appreciated.
