Jen K | 3188 comments To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the national park system in the US, Conor Knighton decided to visit all national parks in one year starting with the first sunrise in Acadia on January 1 and ending with the last sunset in Point Reyes on December 31. Knighton's engagement had just ended and he was looking for a fresh start and a chance to commune with nature pitching the trip to CBS and luckily having some segments picked up by them. He groups the park visits by themes and it sounds like an enviable trip throughout the year. With the audio, it was a bit confusing at times when he transitioned to a new park, partly because I wasn't quite finished and left wanting to know more. It was fun to read about parks that I had visited but also the many that I haven't and will need to put on the travel list.

Interwoven with the park visits was some personal memoir. I really enjoyed his growing friendship with the camera guy and family visits. While I know the break up of his engagement was part of the impetus of the trip, he could have edited out the Tinder swiping and girls that he liked but weren't "It". Overall though, I did enjoy learning more about the national parks.
