Ruh roh....I think I didn't get some of my finished books (there are 2 I think?) onto the Round 2 SS. I'm too late I'm guessing? Unless anyone grabbed them from my list for me but I realize no one is obligated to do that.

The books that were marked as Read on your GR Shelf were added or updated on the SS. If they aren't marked as Read, I couldn't add them.
I'll check. One I know I had marked as Read already on my shelf and one I hadn't yet marked so maybe you caught one for me. I am not good at putting things as planned because being a mood reader and sometimes a slower reader, I try not to take up space for y'all who read quicker than I do. Mainly it boils down to me losing track of time to the end of the round and I didn't check in for the countdown. I'll make myself a better reminder for next time.
If you make sure the books are marked as Read and are on your Read shelf and Wheels shelf on the before the end of the round, I'll pick them up if you haven't listed them. (Within a reasonable timeframe)Try to have all books listed on the SS or marked as Read on your shelf at least 1-2 hours before the end of the round. That would be 3 pm EST at the latest and I'll do my best to make sure they are included for the round.
I moved a couple of Gardening mini books, so don't freak out if you think you put it someplace and gremlins screwed with it. It was just me. I changed the explanation to fit the new task, so you need to do nothing.
Question: for "office romance" is that strict to a traditional office, or can it be a coworker romance?
I think they are looking for an office setting. If one of them is a manger of a big box store or something, probably yes, if they are both nature guides, then no.
I picked some really slow reads this round!! Wishing I had saved a couple of these books for after the challenge because I could’ve so easily read a couple more books this round if I wasn’t dragging through my choices.
That happens some times. I have run into a couple of those this round as well, and read them faster than I wanted to. Sets me up for a good reread later though!!!
Ok team. once again, we are reading, but being very very quiet on the chat thread. So, I only have one question for this week's pop quiz. Think about it, it is a doozy. What songs make up the soundtrack of your life?
(Choose one to a hundred, give explanations or not. Just have fun remembering some good/bad/important/funny/poignant times, and share.)
Hey Team!!!We have about 2 and a half days left in this round, so figure out what you are likely to finish in time.
Our next round is posted and our spell it out word is-
ANNUAL PERFORMANCE REVIEW
Look! We have a brand new vowel! We actually have all 5 vowels this time around.
Line up those N and R books.
We still have some mini tasks outstanding so when you are posting, remember to take a look to see if your books fits anywhere. We can't start a new round of a mini until we finish one off. We are so close to another Gardening one. We still need two each of #4 and #5 in a series.
Hope you are all enjoying your books!
I need to update - this week has been crazy! I have a #4 book planned to read next, hopefully will get it done in this round.

One song that keeps coming up is David Allen Coe's "You Never Even Call Me By My Name". I don't live in Texas, I once lived there for a year but otherwise have not lived within 2000 miles of it since my 20s. And yet, YET!, I realized that in every decade of adulthood (20s, 30s, 40s) I have at some point found myself 1)in a bar 2) tipsy/drunk 3) belting the song out along with some number of complete strangers. In a honky tonk, in a piano bar, in a bar in a ghost town where there was nothing to do but drink and sing. To add to this, I am not a big drinker and I absolutely can not carry a tune.
(Also, if you go listen to this on Youtube you have to listen to the end when the singing along part will make much more sense)

I stopped reading yesterday to listen to music because there are so many songs that I love, but I couldn't think of one. 🤦🏽♀️
When I logged into Pandora one of the first things I say was that an album that I love by Mary J. Blige, "My Life" has turned 30. It shocked me how much time has passed, plus I still listen to it, so it still feel current.
I played the entire album. I would definitely add the song "My Life " to this list.
I could probably go through all of Mary's albums and find something that resonates with certain moments in my life.
And since the 90s was my favorite decode, I will also add "90s Girl" by Blackgirl to this list as well.
I seem to have music attached to a ton of memories. Certain songs will pull up some vivid memories.-My parents dancing to the new Ike and Tina Turner album, and my sister and I joining in.
-A wedding I went to as a kid that had Cat Stevens' "Foreigner Suite" playing in the background. (Full out hippie wedding, bare feet, on the shores of a lake, the whole thing.)
-Heart's "Dreamboat Annie" album and my best friend in middle school playing Othello in her basement and laughing so hard we got sick.
-Dancing to Stairway to Heaven at a school dance with a guy I liked.
-My sister and I singing all of the songs from Linda Ronstadt album "Hasten Down the Wind" at a campground in the Tetons, driving our parents absolutely bonkers. (This was way before Jackson Hole became a popular thing, we were the only people around for miles.)
-A bunch of friends on our Junior trip in Arches, Utah, singing Paradise by the Dashboard Light in a natural amphitheater, with the sun coming up. Yes, we were camping, yes we were nuts, and the teachers weren't awake yet. Until we started. Then they joined in.
-Finding the amazing band Dexter Grove at the Silver Dollar saloon in Jackson Hole while escaping from the Mormons that had descended on my dad's 60th birthday celebration. (They were relatives. Clearly I didn't like them. Nor they me.)
-Seeing Dexter Grove about a dozen more times when they came to Phoenix. Alas, they are no more.
-Seeing Hamilton on Broadway with a friend who was able to score tickets, and basically memorizing the cast album afterwards.
-And lots more.
Oh!!! And since it is almost upon us, listening to Arlo Guthrie's "Alice's Restaurant" on Thanksgiving while I am cooking.
Oh!!! And listening to John Denver and The Muppets Christmas album the Friday after Thanksgiving. The official beginning of the holiday season for me.
Hey Team!!!!We have a final mini challenge for the last round of Wheel.
However, we cannot complete the tasks until we have completed the other three minis at least once.
So, here is the new one-
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
And, here are the tasks from the other minis that have yet to be finished-
Admin-
-plot revolves around an office romance
-typical administration material on the cover
-MC works in taxes
Feeding the Family-
-Mexico 5 tags
-France 5 tags
-Thailand 5 tags
-Korea 5 tags
-Turkey 5 tags
-Nigeria 5 tags
-Hawaii 5 tags
I think Angie is planning one for France, and I think Rebecca has the admin material book, but speak up if you guys have books that work.
I want us to complete the minis if possible. Call it the competitive imp inside of me.
I will look through my books today! I did put in the admin material book which I will finish today. The tags are driving me crazy because I have books that take place in some of those places, but they aren't tagged. Sheeesh haha
Yeah me too. I read one that had China tagged twice. So annoying.Bu then, I never add tags like that to my books.
OMG it doesn't have the bonus words. This is tough!!
Also is there anyway to clarify - do the books for the newest mini have to be FINISHED after we complete the first 3 minis? Like can we work on that simultaneously while we finished the previous minis, but just can't report any points from it. Or can we not even start working on it until we declared the others finished?
Oh no, you can start reading anything you want. It just can't be finished until after we finish the minis. The mods will be checking the read dates.
Ah so the books cannot be finished before we finish the minis, even if we wait to claim the points. That makes it tricker and gives us way less time to get those original minis done. I will start the Tax Accountant one today.
any chance someone can add my book read to the spreadsheet where it fits best?Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder

I’m at kids sports today Hahha. But I finished my 2 open books if someone can mark them as today (I think I put them on my wheel shelf). The Witch Is Back and Christmas on the Thirteenth Floor.
Any takers on any of the open Feeding the Family prompts?
Round 4 officially kicked off 25 minutes ago!We will add the new mini once we are able to add books to it. Should be tomorrow, unless something infringes on our reading time.
The Relax Mini Tab has been added to the SS. ONLY books completed from today until the end of the challenge can be used in this mini.
Yay!!!! This is exciting!I’ll be traveling for Thanksgiving with kids which means no audiobooks for about a week wahhhh. How rude of Thanksgiving to be scheduled during Wheel!

Hey Team!!!We have until the 7th for this last round.
There are some tasks in the Relax challenge that haven't been grabbed yet. I personally like completing the set. I have two books left on my book cap, so I can grab the leftovers maybe, but can any of you finish any of the following tasks?
-Features dragons
-A genre that your library doesn't stock normally (think sub-genre)
-Character drives an EV
-Author initials in MOSAIC
-CH spends time in a wood (Angie, God of the Woods will work)
-PARK letters in title
-Author initials in KNITTING
-Set in a fictional world
-Book is out of your comfort zone.
Hello team! I am alive! 7 days traveling with my kids to see family and do a million things and I am zonked and basically did no reading (wahhh) but I have a big list for this week hopefully!I will update the spreadsheet and look through the prompts.
Also I'm putting this in as 50% orange because that's how it looks on my screen - does anyone else see this as orange?
Hi spreadsheet minders! The bonus words aren't showing up on the Feeding the Family spreadsheet for the 2nd iterance. I envy those of you who know how to make these meticulous spreadsheets. Maybe some day I'll learn :)
You and me both. I rely on Angie's expertise for that stuff. If she doesn't see this post, I will let her know.
I can do the 5th in a series unless anyone else is planning on it? I will start tomorrow afternoon. Can a captain make sure this one counts for #5
Lady Jenny's Christmas Portrait - it's in 2 series so I just want to make sure
