Jada I haven't even read the previous books, so this won't have much context for me ...

I liked this series, but I didn't feel like it closed out their stories well. This is one of those series where I felt the books went down hill a bit after the first one, but that could just be me.

Chelsea This may be a very odd question, but is it necessary to finish this series to understand what goes on in the OUABH trilogy?

Isabel (isabel_r_) | 120 comments It isn’t necessary to read caraval before ouabh but I feel like it would give a lot more understanding to one of the main characters in the ouabh series. Which personally I found would make for a more meaningful read. But they are two separate stories in the same world with a few of the old characters popping up. So you can read it however but I would recommend starting with caraval since in general the series is really good!

Ella! *✨* I read OUABH first... whooops. It was a great series even without having read Caraval. I will admit, reading Caraval first probably would have been better for context in OUABH and I wold have avoided a few minor(?) spoilers in the Caraval series. It dosen't really matter, but it is probably better to read Caraval first.

I did the same thing, and I agree that it would have been better to read this series first, but luckily it didn't make a huge difference.
