Completion PostWeek #5 (Option 1)
Date: 11/07/24
Rating: 4 Stars
Review:
After the absolute rage and utter disappointment of Whitney, My Love, I did go into Until You with fairly low expectations. It's been quite some time since I read the last one so I didn't remember much about the Westmorelands, which probably helped me enjoy this more.
I'm not a huge fan of the amnesia trope and find it a bit predictable. But I liked that Sheridan's personality shone thru, even when she didn't know who she was. She was feisty, charming and so likable. I liked Stephen for the most part, but he was an ass for some of the story too, though not as bad as Clayton (from prior book). I understood that he felt guilt over accidentally killing a man, and felt compelled to take care of Sheridan while she had amnesia. And I knew that he was fighting his feelings for her (actually, lust), but I hated all the deception and the lies and absolute farce of their engagement. And for everyone to play along?
Nicki and Charity were the real stars of this book - I loved them to pieces! After the misunderstandings and revelations, they played their parts beautifully in getting Sheridan and Stephen back together. I want to read more of them!
Overall, it wasn't perfect, and I didn't find it overly romantic. But it was an enjoyable read that I found I couldn't put down and wanted to keep reading well into the night.

Behind the Scenes

Date completed: 11/8/24
Rating: *4 STARS*
I thoroughly enjoyed this. Right from the moment they met, Logan and Pierre had this *thing* that you just knew they were meant to be together. I loved their chemistry and banter. I loved the narration. And the entire story just drew me in! Even the ending which I would usually complain about because of the lack of epilogue was perfect because of something else that was mentioned in the story. So it was definitely "P3" worthy!
I love Christina C. Jones so much. Her stories just resonate with me. My only complaint with this one is that it's not part of a series. But I'm going to search Ms. Jones's catalog to see which of these characters make an appearance elsewhere. I just hope they make an appearance again somewhere!

Week 5 - LaurLa and R-wka; Vicki never posted a selection for this week, and the main challenge post says that if you miss a week you're out, so I'm not sure what will happen with this one.
Week 6 - Laura, Cathy, and LaurLa to complete; R-wka, and Vicki haven't posted selections.
Completion Post ~ Week 4
Book: Snowed In For Christmas
Date completed: Nov 07
Rating: 3⭐️
It's a "stuck together by a snowstorm" book. One of the used trope for Christmas and a good one to pas the time. I finished it a few days ago, but sadly some of the ideas of the book seem to be fading from my mind gradually. It's not a memorable book, but it's good for the passage of time...

OH SHOOT! Let me check. I thought we were permitted to be two books behind but no more.
This is what Jane posted: Falling behind by more than two books: you can't fall behind by more than two books. If you have two books outstanding at the theme announcement, you will need to have read at least one book in the new theme's week. If another theme is announced and you have three books unread, then I will have to remove you.
Vicki wrote: "This is what Jane posted: Falling behind by more than two books: you can't fall behind by more than two books. If you have two books outstanding at the theme announcement, you will need to have rea..."But also this. So I don't know which applies.
If you sign up for this challenge, you must be prepared to:
* Read roughly one book each week
* Follow the format for the selection and completion posts.
* Post your selection book BEFORE the next theme is called, or you will be eliminated
* Technically be able to put links to other threads/bookshelves/lists, and insert book links and book covers in your posts. (These are not difficult but you MUST be able to do these links; they don't have to look pretty, but they do need to go to the intended location).
And:
PLEASE READ THE RULES OF THE CHALLENGE CAREFULLY.
IF YOU HAVEN'T POSTED EACH WEEK WITHIN THE TIMELINES ABOVE AND YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY TOLD TEAM-MATES OR A MODERATOR - no questions - YOU WILL BE REMOVED FROM YOUR TEAM and the challenge.

Review:
I thought this book was very interesting and I learned a lot about Korean history and culture. It had a lot of characters in it, so it would be easy to get lost in it (for me) without concentrating on it. If you're looking for a different culture to read about and enjoy like animals, this could be a good pic for you.
OK team, I am sorry I got behind, but I am pretty sure that I'm now only behind in week 5. If the captain would please confirm for me that I am good now other than week 6, I would appreciate it. :)

I guess the one week I did get behind on without posting just due to the not realizing it was week 6. I had it done (in my head) and read so I went ahead and posted it, but Jane has the right to drop me if I did break the rules. Sorry team if that's the case. :(
Vicki wrote: "OK team, I am sorry I got behind, but I am pretty sure that I'm now only behind in week 5. I'm updating my challenges right now and will go down my list to get to this one. :)
I wasn't trying to say you should be kicked out, just, as per my first post, I wasn't sure what was going to happen when Jane checked our thread at some point.
Vicki wrote: "OK team, I am sorry I got behind, but I am pretty sure that I'm now only behind in week 5. If the captain would please confirm for me that I am good now other than week 6, I would appreciate it. :)"Week 4. You selected Some Like It Cold, but I don't see an completion post for that one. Otherwise you are correct. You just need to do a selection and then completion for Week 6.

That didn't ever cross my mind. I know I'm one book behind now and I'm planning to read it so we'll see what the MOD says. I totally understand if I did screw up and misunderstood the rules and she removes me.

Review:
I'll start by saying "not my cup of tea." Sorry, but I wasn't into it. I am not "into" erotica and that's one of the MPG genres, but I'll always "take one" for the team (another challenge, not this one). So I gave it a shot. I should've known. To me, it lacked any real substance or plot that resonated with me. Chloe Mills is managing a media company business and also working towards her MBA. She's doing a great job until the owner of the company, a young, handsome, evidently totally irresistible Bennett Ryan comes along. Aka. the DICK! Need I say more? I can't handle it when a woman just "can't" resist a man and I have to ask where did her self-respect go? He wasn't a wonderful, successful, kind-hearted man who treated her with tenderness and nurturing and was attentive to her in any good ways. He wanted in her pants and he got there too quickly for my taste. He does grow on you as you read the book but not enough for me to give it 3 stars.
Completion Post - Week 6Book: Before I Fall
Date Read: 11/13
Rating: 5 stars
Review: I love this series! It is Reverse Harem done well, which means that it has the smut, but also has plot. There is angst, of course. Otherwise why would anyone read it? But the tension between the characters is done just right. If such a situation ever could occur, it is reasonable to think that people would begin to feel these ways. What happens when the person you love becomes the person you hate, and there is nothing either side can do to change the circumstances? That is the central question in this book.

The edition you linked has 271 pages, not 318. Can you please correct that? Thanks!

Sure, thanks :) I thought we were supposed to only use first kindle edition page count, so I'm not sure what was wrong, but I fixed it. Can you check it now, please? Thanks :)
Hi Team.Is OK if I use the Pass for week 6?
I had a busy crazy week at work and isn't finished and my time (and brain) for reading isn't on my side.
Everyone else has posted a book selection and/or a completion, so you’re good. Just make sure you do an official selection post for the pass option.
I'm STILL reading my book for Week 6... it's so boring me! I almost changed my selection (I REALLY should have), and already finished that other book. But I'm trying to finish it by this weekend. For Turfs. And this one.

Although I will say that even though that is a slooooooooow moving book, it is worth it in the end.
Vicki wrote: "Sure, thanks :) I thought we were supposed to only use first kindle edition page count, so I'm not sure what was wrong, but I fixed it. Can you check it now, please? Thanks :)"That's for The Amazing Race. As far as I know for this one, you use the page count of your edition. Unless it's an audio edition, then you use the page count of the first listed edition.

Hi all - sorry, I have been OTT busy as well, but in the throws of catching up.All good with Vicki. If I had chased Vicki she would have realised that the book selection was missing :)
According to my tracking, the following are outstanding:
Week 4 - Vicki completion
Week 5 - LaurLa & R~wka completions
Week 6 - Cathy & LaurLa completions
LaurLa just needs to make sure she posts a completion next week to keep no more than 2 books behind.
For the correct version of the GR book posted and its page count:* You must quote the page numbers for your selected book each week. Please quote the goodreads page numbers (any edition of the book is fine).
This is on the sign up thread but I'll add it to the Q&A list :)
Basically you can choose any edition in English that is at least 100 pages. This is one of the easier team challenges ;)
Jane (PS) wrote: "LaurLa just needs to make sure she posts a completion next week to keep no more than 2 books behind."I will have week 5 done later today.
It would be really lovely if this week's call worked for Bookshelf Bingo and Ghosts since I have a book that works for both of those already. Or alternatively, my Clowns book would work for this week's call. So let's keep those fingers crossed for me!!!
