“THE CEILING MAN CARES.” You can hear from the ceiling before small laughs can be heard it’s Rebel in the ceiling again.
``What the fuck-`` Persephone screamed, jumping backwards, burning her hand.
"Who said it's okay for you to hurt people for shits and giggles?"He snatched the flat iron from her, palm directly on the ceramic heating plate but he didn't seem to notice. He then glanced up.
"What're you-"
``Your hand- its on the part that you heat up-`` She choked, looking at his hand.
"I've felt plenty worse. Dipped this hand in acid once."
She got back up, grabbing the flat iron back. ``Now get away from me...with that- rat``
“I’m a rat.” Rebel jumped out of the ceiling smiling.
"You're not a rat, babes."
``Get him away from me will ya?``
“What’s so wrong with him? Yes I am a rat I’m in the ceiling.”
"What, you scared of my little sister? And you're still not a rat, you're a Rebel."
``No`` she spat, glaring at River.
"ooh, oh no, she's coming for you-"He stepped a little closer, still cradling River in his arms.
He just laughed. Genuinely laughed.
River woke up finally, shaking. ``bu....``
"You alright?"
"Good,"He set her down on the couch.
“I’m a rat whose name is Rebel. Therefore I am a rat.”
River sneezed, shaking. ``D-Did the soup burn...? I-I'm sorry bubba....``
"Don't worry about it, River,"He grabbed a blanket to wrap her in.
"Rebel-"
He pat her head.
``Is that your other um....boy-friend?``
"Yup,"He smiled.
