BARRET "BEAR" WILLIAMS
FORGET ABOUT YOUR TROUBLES, come nap with me. Bear has been a living breathing walking talking teddy bear since the day he was born. a gift of sorts from his parents, demigods that swore Aphrodite herself had blessed their union. Bear agrees, after growing up with them. his father is a son of Demeter, and his mother a daughter of Hypnos. it gave him a natural set of various interests, finding peace both in a bed and also a patch of grass. his parents refer to him as their hibernating teddy bear cub, and they will likely never stop.
unlike most campers, Bear has been attending this camp his entire life. more or less. his parents met here, and both really enjoyed their time here. they also knew first hand how useful it would be for Bear to attend and learn not only about his heritage, but fighting skills and anything else that might be useful in the real world. he's been attending since he was about four years old, and although he returns back home every fall, he considers the camp to be another home to him.
although kind, Bear prefers to keep a smaller circle and is a bit on the quieter side. like his father, he loves to be outside and growing plants. he's actually attending university this fall for landscape architecture, though he might just switch to business. he heard they have more free time, and that means more naps. he wants to design gardens for people, kind of like the cool ones you see on HGTV. he used to watch that channel with his parents, each of them spending half the time asleep and the other half insanely invested.
Bear is rather hard to miss, standing at six foot two with a slender build. he takes more after his mother, with a shock of brown hair and pale blue eyes. his ivory skin burns after excessive sun although he often tries his best to keep up with sunscreen. he even applies a spf lip balm before heading outside for the day! you can often find him enjoying nature or helping younger campers, whether that be by helping them find their footing in camp or teaching them something related to plants or sleep. or, on a great day, he is ministering a group nap session out in the forest - don't knock it 'til you try it.
POWERS SLUMBERING VINES. the ability to create and control vines that can induce sleep upon contact. these vines can be used to entangle or to create safe, restful spaces. SERENITY FIELD. the ability to create an area where plants and vegetation promote a state of calm and relaxation, making it difficult for others to stay alert and focused. this could be used in tense situations or to create a safe haven. CHLOROKINESIS. the ability to manipulate and control plant life with a mere thought, he can encourage growth, shape foliage, and even influence the behavior of plants. HYPNOKINESIS. the ability to manipulate sleep patterns, and by extension, dreams. he can induce someone to fall asleep (and keep them asleep) or force them to wake up, and he can have an influence on the kinds of dreams that they have.
