Joanna Chaplin | 1175 comments I saw this article a little while ago. I think it ties in with some of our discussion about his humor.

One key paragraph for the busy:
"He will rage, as he leaves, against so many things: stupidity, injustice, human foolishness and shortsightedness, not just the dying of the light. And, hand in hand with the anger, like an angel and a demon walking into the sunset, there is love: for human beings, in all our fallibility; for treasured objects; for stories; and ultimately and in all things, love for human dignity."

One of the things I love about the Discworld is that it's socially conscious. It entertains, but in between the cracks, it begs us to have empathy. It begs us to care about those that are different from ourselves.
