This was because I found it in a cupboard at my son's apartment when I was visiting recently. My receipt was less than halfway through so I thought it was the bookmark. By the time I realized I'd read all of it, I was so far through I figured I'd finish and count it for a challenge.

I didn't like it anymore the second time around--I like the characters as I said in the original review, but I personally find the villains too over the top (ie inane) so the comedy didn't work for me. Humour is subjective. I might try the next one since it looks like there are no insane villains and I usually like Evanovich.

Original review
I read this several days ago (am behind on reviews)

The good news is that there is no love triangle, which is what made me quit the better Stephanie Plum series. Also, Gabriela is not a wimp with guns over and over and over again. (gets old after a while, so is no longer funny.)

At first I liked this book, but honestly I didn't care for it all the way through the book because the plot/story was rather weak and tiring. I did like Gabriela and some of the characters, so couldn't give this only 1 star. If Evanovich comes up with a stronger story for the next one, I'll try it.

This book would make a better movie than a book. As a movie it might be fun, but as a book it failed.
