I think the first book had a slightly more academic vibe to it. It seemed like she was really studying every little thing she encountered. This one seemed a little closer to holy black to me (not a bad thing) I loved it!

just finished!! i enjoyed it almost as much as the first and am really looking forward to the formula shakeup in the third book next year!
