Allison is friends with Jordan, who is Alec's sister, who is Liam's partner and they have had some cases go bad due to leaks from the FBI. They needed someone outside the Bureau with mad skills to find the leak. Jordan has likely told Alec about Allison's skills. I perfectly understand about Allison not wanting to take a lie detector test. She has a lot to hide. Immunity from prosecution for her "crimes" and helping her cousin Bill one more time are great incentives for her to do their job.
They want Allison to hack the FBI and another alphabet to see who is leaking information. Allison knows that she committed a crime, and she doesn't want to be arrested. To ease the fear, they offer her immunity because she isn't associated with either organization. They want her to work on other projects for the FBI and do her hacking.
Liam wants to find out who is leaking information. Allison doesn't want to take a lie detector test because it will show that she broke the law (several times) if they ask her the right questions.I thought it was ridiculous that Liam and Alec just agree that Allison will get immunity if she helps them out. They don't have that kind of power to agree to that. They can't go around offering immunity for things that they want done.
I also thought that "immunity" was a silly notion when talking to 2 FBI agents in a living room. Nothing in writing, just Jordan's word that they were on the up and up. In the end, it didn't matter, because this was just another plot point that didn't go anywhere.
The immunity was a hard pill to swallow for sure...just went down too easily. And the nothing in writing was ridiculous. These characters accept a lot on the word of others.
Too bad we are such savvy readers. There is no way we let a plot hole like the immunity deal pass without comment.

True, Anita! lol We're too sharp for them! I love our discussions and learning the ways we all agree and the ways we differ in opinions. Makes for fun reading and discussions.
