Mother of Learning: ARC 1 part way through Ch 7 (view spoiler)[I'm glad that Zorian has finally met up with Zack. Zack already having had 200+ loops is nuts. It also seems that something with the lich's spell knocked Zack out for several loops. Assuming they attend the same loops together and it's not random. It would be pretty funny if Zack is actually the lich from the future recreating himself lol Hopefully with the two of them together the can start putting together pieces of the puzzle. I don't see Zorian being able to play dumb for too long. He's too curious. One month of loop time is a lot to work with. No wonder the series title. (hide spoiler)]

Reading Aether, book 3 in a bit of a kitchen sink lesbian superhero romance series by Molly Bragg... Has all sorts of random SF Fantasy things... Nanos, superheroes, aliens, angels and demons, dragons
Picked up book 1 on the same sale I found Beware of Chicken I think, and picked up the rest on a site wide sale as a completionist... Never put much effort into continuing the series since each book is pretty standalone...
First book lured me in with time travel
First book lured me in with time travel
Gonna read Angel of Vengeance next... The new Pendergast from last year... End of the trilogy/tetralogy that started a few years ago, when multiverse portals allowed for a Kaiju book and then time travel to revisit the Dr. leng plotline from near the start of the series and Constance's origins in the late 1800s... The series really embraced its SF/paranormal aspects in recent years, after all the years of saying Pendergast's meditation techniques are real and based on a secret monastery in the real world
..
..
Finished Aether ... It was really good, actually... Didn't take the easy route with the unrequited romance...
Jumped to Unexpected Healer instead of Angel of Vengeance... New Isekai LitRPG I'm trying... Kinda horrific start deviating a bit from usual truck-kun intros...
30-40% through Unexpected Healer and liking it a lot...
MC has some mild RPG knowledge ... Isn't an idiot... Lucky in a world with a broken AI system (appeared early before other Earthers, dumped into healer class, but his spells don't use mana correctly, so he can survive when he shouldn't and self heal, only limited by cool downs...
World has definitely RPG logic for gear types, being unable to use certain types of weapons/armor... Also more specialized RPG systems, like limited skill/action slots that need to be equipped with spells/etc...
MC is also lucky the system keeps giving him reward multipliers for doing things solo and vastly under leveled... Altho it's confusing the non-Earthers in the world, who refuse to believe the AI could bug out, so he has to pretend to not be an Earthen Contender (series name)...

Finished Unexpected Healer liked it a lot... Especially learning all the things he missed in the tutorial in the first half of the book... Looting enemies, extra dimensional inventory, identifying items... Obvious RPG stuff that required code phrases to trigger...
The end sets up PVP issues for book 2... From what I learned of the meta plot, I assume the series is well on its way to building towards finale, from book 4-5 blurbs...

Reading Angel of Vengeance now... The book doesn't really do much of anything to explain how Diogenes survived, the last time he was presumed dead 10 books ago... Not too hard to imagine something, tho...
Story is just meandering along ... I assume everything will come together towards the end...

I don't mind delaying/rescheduling things, as long as we have a schedule... I'm a tad bummed my schedule is so full, or I'd've jumped in on the litRPG shenanigans going on here... I want to read Mother of Learning but have a May backlog...
I mostly made room by reading more... almost up to your numbers... might surpass you next month unless you up your reading because summer... my May numbers skyrocketed the past 2 weeks, as I listened to 2x the books at work on bluetooth... beat most my February records... should beat the rest and then some in June...
I/we should really sit down at some point, see what things only the 2 of us are reading, and see if there's any we can slow down and "combine" like we did with Kushiel & Others... things we want to finish re-reading or read the last couple for the first time, but don't mind slowing down to free up slots for other things...
I'll still be going on Mother of Learning for a couple months easy. You could jump in whenever :)Not opening your spoiler Iain if it's for the end of book 2 :P
Timelord Iain wrote: "I/we should really sit down at some point, see what things only the 2 of us are reading, and see if there's any we can slow down and "combine" like we did with Kushiel & Others... things we want to..."Hm, yes, I'll take a look at the list later and see if I can figure it out... Most of the things which were just us two I think Choko has come back into... might have just been Kushiel & Black Jewels...
We'll have to see about reading numbers... ^_^
Wouldn't hurt to give Choko a break to catch up on more stuff too tho, really... Chokos game for anything she doesn't have to plan herself

New Achievement!
just wanted to pop in and say hi! New mom life means very little time for reading for me and even less time for BRs unfortunately:(I had a dream last night I caught up on a bunch I had missed so it made me wanna come at least say hi!
I've mosyly been relistening to the Wandering Inn lately at night (but keep falling asleep lol) and very slowly making my way through The Devils (Abercrombie) on my commute to work. Really like it so far!
Hope yall are doing well!

Nice seeing you, Emily...

Pretty far ahead on BRs... Gonna read Only Villains Do That 3, Demon World Boba Shop 1, and Earthen Contenders 2 the next few days, I think...
Started Boba Shop... nice/cozy, as advertised... narrator is like Alex Verus's little British brother... similar but not quite the same...
Reminds me a bit of this year's Wayward Children, with kid/adult in new world, adopted into family to learn...
Also, meeting demons for the first time reminded me of Erin meeting Klbkch and Relc for the first time in Wandering Inn... she/he is freaking out, and they're just talking normal and trying to be helpful...

Finished Boba... It was great... And embraced Narilka's opinions about Stormlight Archives... Included 6 extra short stories at the end, that didn't fit in the narrative... Also a 45m authors note about writing the books and inspiration...
Deep into Only Villains Do That 3, and it's been better than I expected... The way the hero and villain are working together against common enemy, and villain is "corrupting" the hero with truth about the goddesses and species injustice in the world...
You're super far ahead, and I only just cracked open June this week... got several chonkers at the start, a few 30ish hour books.... But I'm really happy I kept up with the Tad Williams BR (thanks to Paula for sticking with me!) it's been worth it...

I'll put a note in my tracker if I find time! Lately I've been either barely finishing a month's books by the end, or running a week late... we'll see if that gets better this summer.
Decision fatigue is real :D
I'm getting so far ahead I need to come up with like 20 books to read next week...

LOL You could like, go back and join us in a series you haven't read yet. Like, Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn... that'd chomp up that time for you easy...
Not as much as you'd think...
I've listened to 227hrs of audio in the past 7 days...
To Green Angel Tower is 60hrs of audio, but most of the rest is much less...

I binged multiple Earthen Contender books last night...
Unexpected Healer -- last week, I commented...
Unprepared Healer -- last night
Undisguised Healer -- last night
Unaffiliated Healer
Unrestrained Healer
This is the series where the MC is a bugged healer class the system tried to dispose of in a volcano... grew OP in book 1, attempting to solo level before everyone else finished Tutorial... was reset to level 1, but kept stat gains and achievements... and world first achievements provide alot of stat boosts and skill slots, and he keeps unlocking more world first achievements, thanks to banked XP and being the highest level player with OP skill synergies letting him survive and beat higher level enemies and dungeons/raids...
Book 2, he was mostly in hiding, because being above level 21 made him the only person capable of being killed in PVP, until more people broke level 20... altho, by the end of the book the System got mad at all the PVP murder and changed the rules, adding dark auras and exceptions to the rules, and the MC got some revenge and got people to start working together again... also broke through the 2nd level cap/evolution at 63...
Book 3, he started coming out of hiding, and needed some help with qroup quest requirements... then his actions caused alot of game bugs... at one point he had so much banked XP that the system forced him to level from 90ish to 189, the 3rd level cap, but then another bug left him trapped in a time out dimension for 6 months (after it failed to delete him)... by the time he escaped the other players had mostly caught up and were around level 150-170...
But the main Adversary of the series seems to be breaking into the dimension early, and is probably gonna be the MC's main foe going forward... so far he's been the only person with any success against it...
This series is a cross between a LitRPG, and a typical SF multiversal alien threat plot...
Taking a break from the series for a bit, after the bingefest...
Reading Ghostsong, the Wandering Inn side book/series, picked up a Magical Librarian LitRPG series a few hours ago, and have a bunch of other books in my plans for my spare time, but will probably return to BR books for the work week... then again, I only have a few books to read and I'll be good through next Sunday already...

Who needs reading plans... finished Ghostsong, and immediately jumped over to the random Magic Librarian series I picked up...
Sounds like you're enjoying it which is good :)Mother of Learning: ARC 1 half way through ch 19 (view spoiler)
That's the sister, right?...
There's definitely alot to learn and unpack... The hooded villain... Time loop mechanics... Etc etc etc...

Reading Demon World Boba Shop #2... this is the closest I've come to finding something that matches Wandering Inn's cozy slice-of-life elements...
Just showing demons/monsters Earth norms... Wandering Inn does baseball and theatre... Demon World Boba Shop does Boba Tea and camping for fun and snowmen...

June, so far, has been a real proof of concept, of everything I said about my ability to gobble up audiobooks, now that I'm using my Motorola phone, instead of old ipods...
Between listening for 8+ hours at work, at this point (half the time I've just been listening on breaks, instead of pausing and going to youtube, too, for even more reading)... and the better battery life / 3rd party audiobook apps meaning I don't need to recharge my device for 1hr/day or more, and my 11 day average, so far is a bit over 1100 pages per day... nearly 3 books per day, only dipping a bit because of 20-30hr chonkers...

The banner list/article doesn't have a comment section this time... guess they got tired of he negativity in the selections they highlight?
I have real problems with this one, more than most... some categories are dominated by single authors... I think those authors should have just had a single author listing to make room for more variety and suggestions...
Talking about Frieda McFadden in mysteries/thrillers, and Sarah J. Maas in basically all fantasy categories...

Well, it's the most read books so far. I could see people who get into a series to keep reading that author. It's not like their other lists of new releases or summer reads or whatever.
I find most of their lists mildly interesting as I've usually barely read anything on them.
Mother of Learning: ARC 1 through Ch 25 (view spoiler) I have about an hour and a half let. This has been fun :)
I finished Mother of Learning: ARC 1 and really liked it! (view spoiler) I'm going to go do an audio BR and then come back for Arc 2.
