I am glad someone responded.
I was starting to think I was just being ignored for trying to hype people into challenges who just want a place to put their read books down. :)
Also I looked up the points per letter in case anyone wanted to do the Scrabble Scramble challenge next year. Remember titles that start with an A like A Bride's Story or words like the like The Girl from the Other Side are ignored for score purposes instead counting the second word in the title.
1 point - A, E, I, O, U, L, N, S, T, R.
2 points - D, G.
3 points - B, C, M, P.
4 points - F, H, V, W, Y.
5 points - K.
8 points - J, X.
10 points - Q, Z.

Regarding your wheel of genres I am curious what you would put on the wheel and if others would be interested in adding genres if they could make suggestions. Plus if you spun a genre is there a chance of the same one spun again or will there be a "cool down period" before it can be spun again?
Of course people can make suggestions and maybe a cool-down is a good idea maybe like a 2 month cool down or so... to give the other genres a chance.

Sounds good to me. Now you just need to make a list of possibly 12 or more genres and a wheel.
The more challenges the more opportunity to challenge anyone looking for motivation. :)

Might take a bit for some responses but how about things like Drama, Romance, Fantasy, Science Fiction, Horror, Humor, Historical, Isekai, Slice of Life, and Iyashikei.

lol
That is an interesting wheel for sure. Did you just add the link or did I miss it utterly when you posted before? Got Ecchi on my first spin.
I am not sure if Goodreads has Doujinshi in their database to count toward a challenge and they tend to be on the smaller side. Of course not being a purely manga/manhwa challenge if you are going to have shonen and the others perhaps Western Comics should go where Doujin is residing right now since they are not classified that way normally. :)

I had the link there :D, I'll take off Doujinshi... what do you think needs to be added? Added Slice of Life and Superpowers/heroes
I was thinking western Comics like Marvel, DC, Image, Etc giving people a chance to read whatever none eastern works they want for a month but with superpowers/hero and some of the other categories it is not like they can't read those with them.
The only problem was the targeted to young boys, girls, men , and women categories since Western comics are targeted to as wide an audience as possible most of the time they generally wouldn't fit those.

Any chance for Pirates/Swashbucklers to be added if you decide on a cooldown for genres?
Maybe I will catch up on some of my One Piece books or get into more Eden Zero if it comes up. :)

Speaking of the end of the year I was thinking we might consider what type of challenges you are interested in next year. This year I did a theme picked out by you fine folks and a color match up but I am curious if anyone is looking for new types of challenges.
One such challenge could be the A-Z challenge where get credit when you read a volume starting with one of the letters of the alphabet. If you all like we can try a Scrabble points system so you can keep score of every title you read with that letter.
Anyway this is the colors I ended up choosing this year so you are more than welcome to use them too. By the end of the year the colors are in combinations to make it easier with the deadlines approaching. :)
January=Blue / February=Pink / March=Green / April=Yellow / May=Brown / June=Red / July=Purple / August=Secondary Colors (Purple, Green, and Orange) / September=Primary Colors (Blue, Red, and Yellow) / October=Spawn of Yellow (Orange and Green) / November=Children of Red (Orange and Purple) / December=Progeny of Blue (Green and Purple) I would probably change brown out for orange if I were to do it differently. :)
