SOLVED. Children's fiction book with an emphasis on a plate with a China pattern. [s]

I remember out focused on a girl, age 10-12 maybe. I think she saved up money to buy a plate with a China pattern, or her friend gave her one and there was a story about the image. I believe she accidentally breaks the plate at some point. And there's a chapter where she goes to a fair or carnival in town. I think the cover of the book was either the China pattern or the two girls (her and her friend). Thank you for your help!
