As much as I love happy endings, I have to admit, sad endings definitely have a stronger impression on me, even if it destroys my heart 💔

i feel like sad endings are much less predictable, so i like them better in that aspect, but happy endings all the way. sad endings would just make me cry like every day lol
i like the both sad and happy ending type of books, idk if it's weird or not but it's king of refreshing
sad endings because they have the most impact to me and leave me bawling and comtemplating life choices for the the rest of my existence
I like both however I'm often rooting for the "bad guy" in books. so it depends on how ya approach it from that point of view :P
I can’t choose! I mean happy endings are great because (usually) everything ends up okay, But sad endings seem like they stick with us more, like sad endings seem more memorable. And even though sad endings can hurt (A lot!) they still seem to be the best and most influential

Even if they can be harsher and harder to read they always leave a lasting impression if done correctly. Sad endings can still have very beautiful writing and important messages to bring attention to. So I prefer sad endings.
Sad endings, they make me feel much more emotions and sometimes I feel like some books that ended with happy endings should end with sad endings instead.
I like both, but usually it depends on the book/series and what i feel abt it.
It depends on what the ending is about for me. I prefer a mixture of both. Happy and sad endings. Or both in one ending haha!
scared to read books with sad endings, but definitely sad or bittersweet endings, they leave a far greater impression
Sad endings. Especially when both characters die at the end, or only one of them does. (They Both Die at the End-The First to Die at the End) Cause I'm a depressed rat 🫶🏻
Bittersweet endings for sure. Or a happy/neutral ending after a sad or intense plot twist. Just happy endings or happy books overall aren't really my cup of tea.

lol that's funny
Happy endings definitely!!!!! I read All the Bright Places in December last year, and I loved it ssm, but I HATED the ending because it was so sad =((
I tend to gravitate towards books with a happy ending. I think there are times when a bittersweet or sad ending is required. For instance, I think the rewritten ending for Great Expectations was "too happy." I prefer the original Dickens had written.
I think it depends on the state of mind that I am in at the time. I like both, but sometimes I need a happy ending because of whatever is going on with me.
I love happy endings as much as the next person, but sometimes when reading I wonder "what if everyone just d1ed and they didn't achieve anything? :)"
Happy endings, FOR GOD"S SAKE. Who thought sad endings would be a good idea except to teach ppl morals?
I really think it depends. sometimes I go into a more sad book for the real feelings, and I'll get a sad ending or even an unexpected happy ending, but I really like both sometimes, depending, so idk! it's really all up to preference in book for me too. Sometimes there's books I like the sad/happy ending, and some that I may not.
