Finding someone like Gemmell

So. I'm a bit at a loss for content. I read a lot of books, most of them I lost interest in part way through. books such as loki's wolves, pillars of creation, the doctor who books and many more.

I keep going back to these though.

- everything by David Gemmell (except troy).
- Kevin Hearne iron druid series.
- legend of nightfall by Mickey Reichert.
- The redwall book series
- The changeling plague by Syne Mitchell

One of the big draws for me on these series is they don't fall back on generalized cliché things like dwarves, elves, goblins etc. and if they do their vastly different concepts than normally expressed (such as the Kevin Hearne books)

Any of ya have any suggestions for some fiction books along the lines of these authors/series? I have used the recommendation tool here on goodreads, but it hasn't given me any suggestions for books that have that same style and feel. All of them are about angels, demons, vampires, elves etc etc but I need that almost lovecraftian abstract.

For example:
David Gemmell doesn't express good and evil as absolutes, there is no heaven and hell. There are the concepts of "the void" and "the source". Beasts aplenty but their not your normal beasts and demons.

Kevin Hearne used a lot of traditional monster types but drastically redefined them in a way they gained their own interconnected mythos. the fae weren't just faeries, they were all manner of fae. The gods were not static concepts but wild variables with deep personalities.

Thank you for your time reading this. If you have an suggestions I will happily look into them.

As a great fan of Gemmel and have read a great deal of his books [there are many] all of which are gems, Raymond E Fiest also has a great many worlds to escape to that I did enjoy.

I just finished Malice by John Gwynne and I would say his work is comparable to Gemmel's. Starting the second in the series now. Gwynne introduces you to a big cast of characters but like he says "even the brave will fall." No one is safe from death which is theme I found in Gemmel's works as well.

try the gilded chain by david duncan

Brandon Sanderson tends to scratch my Gemmell itch.
