Such a shame there'll be no more Phrynes. Thanks, Kerry, for the ones we have.

Allen & Unwin have apparently said her new one, Murder in the Cathedral, will be released later this year. It was in the editing process when she sadly passed.
They've been hot and cold for me lately. I often forget to tick the box, which could be why. No idea....

That's great news. A good homage to her :)

I haven’t had any for 3 days now.
Mine are normal at the moment but they are usually on again off again.

I got a reply from Goodreads. They advised to clear my browser history cache. Or use either chrome or Firefox as my search engine. As I am happy with my Apple run Safari search engine I doubt I would have changed.
Fortunately cleaning my browser history cache appears to have fixed the issues and my notifications are back!
There is a $5 coupon discount for pre-orders of the paperback edition of The Unquiet Grave ON AMAZON. Dervla said it's for today (11 April), but the terms for the coupon indicate it ends on 12 April. Brings it down to $13.

I'm going to be in Sydney for just under a week in June (having a holiday with some friends). What are some must-do things while we're there? Favourite indie bookshops in the city? Taronga Zoo is already on the list, dedicating a whole day to that.

Terribly sad news about the author combination (husband and wife) Verity Bright
"I know some people already know, but I am not sure who. hence this post. Unfortunately Laura, (my wife and the heart and soul of Verity Bright) was killed in a car accident a few weeks ago. I have only just come out of hospital a few days ago myself.
Laura always wanted to write and thanks in part to everyone's support, her dream came true. Thank you so much.
There are still several books Laura wrote that have yet to be published, so I shall keep myself busy making sure her last books are out out there. I know she'd have loved that.
Best Mark"

It is very sad and it seems strange to be reading one of her books right now! It seems her husband was in the car accident too. This happened to some friends of mine a few years ago and it takes a lot of time for the survivor to get past it.

Oh no how sad. Thanks for sharing Brenda.
Is it just me missing something or has there been a big decline in posts and chat lately on Goodreads?
There's been a huge decline since they stopped notifications Dale. People are confused about what to do, and there are other sites which are beckoning, unfortunately. We're trying our best to keep things going but it's difficult 😕
It is trickier, I think. I had mine set to email notifications, which meant I was quite methodical every day, and now I'm a bit haphazard.
I’m sure I’m missing things - I log on at least once a day and check the notifications. I have reading challenges on the go across 12 groups - each group has it’s own word document that I track the challenges - but the notifications sometimes stop for a few hour a to a day or two and I miss updates. Sometimes I miss the notification when I have a heap and one gets overlooked as I click on them. Once a week I visit each group to check I’ve not missed anything - usually after lunch with a glass of wine nearby 😂😂
Sigh - Goodreads depends on me an awful lot

Ditto Leonie - I've had to learn on the run. And I STILL forget to tick the little box "notify me when people comment" half the time!!

Wayne calls it Sally’s Saturday Survival sipping 😂😂
Dale wrote: "Is it just me missing something or has there been a big decline in posts and chat lately on Goodreads?"Not just you, Dale! There's been a large dip since around November last year.
I used to just select notifications for threads I followed, but now I get notifications for every thread for every group and its too many to follow. I leave the box unchecked for comments and still get notifications. But then I don't get notified when people make comments on other things. Been a bit of a mess all round since Amazon took over!
