Yes! I'm going to permit people to use either the old list or the new list for the birthday challenge.

NancyJ (nancyjjj) | 11217 comments Anita, there were two books on the ballot by William Kent Krueger. Can you tell us if Ordinary Grace got in? It might make a difference to someone.

Thanks Anita

Amy | 13033 comments I can admit that the top three of the eight that I cared for, were the two Anthony Marra and this Tender Land.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 8491 comments I'm also curious if any of these authors have a book that has already made the list. I tried really hard to NOT duplicate authors.

I think Marra and Krueger were the only ones with duplicates on the last ballot. Was there another Huxley? I can’t find it right now to check for more. Honeyman doesn’t have another book, and I’m almost certain there wasn’t another Irving book on the ballot. I’m not sure about Heller and Adams since we had other authors with the same last names.

Orwell and deBerniers had two on the original 2016 list. Added- Hardy.

Joy D | 10330 comments I took a look at my saved copy, and these are the authors who had 2 books on the original list:

Backman
DeBernieres
Hardy
Kingsolver
Krueger
Marra
Orwell
Strout

There are 2 Hellers but they are different authors (Peter and Joseph). There are 2 Mitchells but they are different authors (Margaret and David).

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 8491 comments Thanks, Joy D ... this helps. But would still like to know if any of them have made it to the 97 certain books on the list.

We’ll find out soon. The only ones on the runoff ballot are Krueger and Marra, so they’re the only ones we can still influence this year.

NancyJ (nancyjjj) | 11217 comments I’m looking forward to seeing the whole list. It looks like Sunday will be a good PBT day, with the top 100 list and the November tag choices.

This is a good time to review my annual goals to see what I still need to do. I’ll finalize my 15 candles lists, pick out some indigenous and Nov flurries books, and work on my next Subdue list.
