I don't mean it's a useless position, but groups without a minimum of 7-9 members don't reallyneed a leader necessarily. Other than speeches and stuff they don't really get any authority

message 1352: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 17, 2024 11:15AM) (new)

A good leader can change a group yes but sometimes you have leaders which are just leaders because someone was needed to fill the position and fans will treat it as an extra dose of responsibilities overwork when it doesn't really matter much

message 1353: by ❃A.J❃ (new)

❃A.J❃ (bibliophagist) | 1223 comments Not sure about other groups but in BTS and Straykids the leader plays a very important role in keeping the group together and disciplined.

Yes, that's true, despite the main vocalists (chan and seungmin) and I.N (lead vocal), the rest are pretty good too. The main rapper jisung has a high range and is an amazing vocalist, chnagbin sings pretty well too (shockingly, check red lights OT8 ver.), lixie with the deep voice has his range too and surprisingly is AMAZING. Hyunjin, i hv no words, he's gr8 as well.... check out red lights OT8 ver.

some groups don't have leaders cause they dont need one like new jeans but i think danielle or minji should be it or hey play that role

fr i think most fourth & fifth gen kpop groups don't have fixed postions except leader

yeah except for the early 4th gen it's really established but later 4th and 5th not much

it's pretty unorganized now. trainees train for a couple months and go without any establishment 😞

❃A.J❃ (bibliophagist) | 1223 comments These days if an idol looks good they can easily debut and even become popular. For example, Wonyoung from IVE is mostly known for her visuals and her vocals are pretty average. NO HATE!!! I absolutely love so many IVE songs.

message 1367: by ❃A.J❃ (new)

❃A.J❃ (bibliophagist) | 1223 comments Ofc no idol wants to be known as just a visual. Remember during bts' early days people used to put jin down and say that he was just a visual and nothing more. He hated that! Thankfully, he has grown a lot.

Yes, even Sunghoon, i saw a post on insta, where a girl met him at the store, and said "Sunghoon oh my gosh, I love you because you're so handsome" and sunghoon just unpleasantly smiled. This showed, he was upset to be known by his visuals and not talent.

Woojin's songs are lovely, but the promotions?? they're so bad, he had like 5 or 4 challenges for his previous song release

yes bro, it's so annoying... now can someone tell me about this 6-member curse and IVE the only group who survived it. I know what it means but if anyone has some detailed information, please share, I'm looking forward to gain knowledge <3

message 1394: by ❃A.J❃ (new)

❃A.J❃ (bibliophagist) | 1223 comments Don't know about it in detail but I have heard about it. An example would be Gidle, they had 6 members at the time of debut and then Soojin left, Same with Le Sserafim and Kim Garam.

message 1395: by ❃A.J❃ (new)

❃A.J❃ (bibliophagist) | 1223 comments HUGE UNPOPULAR OPINION: These days male idols are better than female idols. They are less Westernized and focus on their performance. Female idols these days do very sexy dances.

message 1396: by ❃A.J❃ (new)

❃A.J❃ (bibliophagist) | 1223 comments Male idols don't really do that much (even if some do) also lip syncing is also less in male idols.

message 1397: by ❃A.J❃ (new)

❃A.J❃ (bibliophagist) | 1223 comments But I have noticed that the number of male idols who do sexy dances is much lesser than females. And I'm not saying there is anything wrong with it, as long as it goes with the concept or it's occasional.

message 1398: by ❃A.J❃ (new)

❃A.J❃ (bibliophagist) | 1223 comments Almost all girl groups have been twerking in their choreos these days. There's literally so many of them!

message 1399: by ❃A.J❃ (new)

❃A.J❃ (bibliophagist) | 1223 comments When they sexualize everything it feels like that's how they want to attract fans and not through their talent. This is something that I feel about a lot of western artists as well.

message 1400: by [deleted user] (new)

To be fair most male idols do infact do sexy or sensual dances
