K-pop fans do contribute a lot to the downgrade of vocals in late 4th-5th gen and the short length of albums if you think about it.
I mean, I've seen a ton of songs, even of 5th gen from practically nugu or just small groups that deserve far more recognition but they don't become 90% of all discussion is about 5% of all idols
HYBE is the worst offender, but other companies, even SM aren't blameless.
But why do they do it? Obviously because it sells. Having albums both be under 30 minutes and have less than 10 songs(it's only a full album by name at this point) doesn't seem to affect sales in the slightest. Not even a tiny bit, so why should they stop and put more effort and resources to compose an actual coherent album for an artist or group?
Same with vocals. People prefer visuals over vocals, so companies also prioritise visuals over vocals. If vocals contributed even the tiniest bit to popularity, NMIXX would be the #1 4th gen group and most Hybe 4th gen groups(NWJS, TxT, LSFM to name a few) would be close to being nugu lol
If stans want good vocals, they need to stop giving attention to groups with mediocre vocal skills. Whether postive or negative. Or AT LEAST stop saying their faves are amazing vocalists just because they sound good when singing sitting down in a studio with a mic but can't even control their breath properly on stage(Bunnies). Or they just straight up don't sound good on stage but fans think they're good because they sound 'raw'(Tae—not Taehyung. Fill in the blanks, I wanna see how many people agree with me without agreeing with me:))

Leader position isn't as important as people think it is
I personally love skz's vocals!! And even though Bangchan is a rapper his vocals are sooooo fine!!! I fell in love with him the first time I heard drive.
Imo a leader is necessary in big groups. Maybe it can work without a leader in small groups of 3 or something but not more than that. In fact, it's surprising that there is no leader in Blackpink and yet they are doing great.
