Those comments made me mad during my peak stray kids obsession so-
It’s just the need for competition that gets to me I think. I don’t understand why people feel the need to establish their group as superior, as if it’s objective fact based on streams and music video views. I wish more people could appreciate that many groups in each generation make good content, instead of zoning in on a singular group and putting them on a pedestal like their life depends on it while simultaneously putting down other groups. And also, taste is subjective, which no one ever seems to get.
Always gotta be that one person going “x group is better than y group, and x group has more views than y group” who cares. Why does it matter so much. Cant we just enjoy things normally 😭😭

So I really do not see the point of arguing over who is “the best” at any point in time, it’s just a waste of energy.
I think the real benchmark for the quality of a song or a band is longevity, not how many views a video gets in the first few hours/days, or how many followers they have, but what people remember of them decades later. That’s impact. Not billions of views generated by people purposefully building views.
@Sam I didn't say that 3rd and 4th gen aren't different, I said that they're not actually lacking behind in music and still have good quality songs that are just as memorable as 4th gen music; people just like what they're used to and aren't willing to change that. It's just that the stuff going viral on TikTok is made only for that purpose so you end up with mediocre music and such getting popular. Even From popular groups
