Taya:) | 348 comments Hello Teammates!
This is my third round. I read mostly mm books and recently I've been dipping my toe back into m/f pond. I'm part of multiple challenges and my focus may be split.

I'm loving Space Monkey Mafia.

Emma (M) Everyone who has checked in so far happy to go with Space Monkey Mafia? If so, I will let the mods know on the main thread.

I've just been introduced to the M/M genre and read the first book in the Cut & Run series, which I loved! I have downloaded a few more recommended books in the genre but haven't gotten around to reading them yet.

It has been four years and counting take over. I used to read maybe few books a month. Then I discovered Amazon one click button. I was just powerless to it. The M/M romance group is great group to join if really looking to discover more about mm books.

Emma (M) We also need to nominate a Captain. Is anyone interested in doing the Captain role?

message 15: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (pokey36) | 1239 comments Thank for finding me TayaJay! I didn't realize we were teamed up! This one is a bit confusing to me (I don't know why) so I would truly suck as captain!

Bouchra Rebiai (bouchrarebiai) | 227 comments Hey guys!

I guess I'm on the team with you all. I kinda had forgotten about all of this, was having a pretty busy week.

Looks like you guys have gone ahead and chosen a name and all that, so I'll just introduce myself.

I'm Bouchra, 21, a freelance translator, and I'm crazy about books. I lately have been getting too lazy about reading them so I guessed I needed a boost so I signed up for both SS and SSS. I played SSS last year twice I believe and I missed the last sign-ups and was quite mad at myself, I'd enjoyed it so much xD

I read pretty much everything except erotica, you guys will find me reading things ranging from sci-fi to crime to non-fiction :)

Happy reading!

This is the author's take on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale The 12 Dancing Princesses. I found the story to be very simple with little in the way of character development or interesting plot line. As such, I didn't really care about the characters or their predicament and didn't get absorbed in the story. It would probably be a great read for someone in the pre-teen age group.

Really more of a 3.5 but I'll round up just because I love Bryce so much. Cute story with lots of smexing and like I said, Bryce was just a perfect guy. But...Dusty was an asshat. For the whole book! Even when they do work things out, he still didn't do anything to make it happen. It was all Bryce. There should have been a serious amount of groveling IMO. Like on his knees crying and begging. I still want to punch him in his fat face (I don't think it's really fat but, ya know). I do think they make a great couple though so I'll deal with my issues. Just a warning that they do have sex with other people in the book because they weren't all the way 'together'. Annoying but not a deal breaker for me.

Splintered (Splintered, #1) by A.G. Howard
Review: I don't know why but I expected more. I've been wanting to read this book since it came out and now that I have I'm dissapointed. I couldn't really connect with any of the characters and didn't really see the connection between Al and Jeb. Now Jeb... I don't care at all for him. If he had died I would have been "Meh."
Other than that, I really enjoyed it and there were some really engaging parts that kept me reading.
Overall, I enjoyed this version of Alice in Wonderland very much and will probably read the rest of the series.

message 43: by Emma (M) (new)

Emma (M) I felt the same way about Splintered as you did Petya. I really didn't think much of Jeb and I found the story a bit meh overall. Morpheus was the only thing that kept it interesting for me.

message 44: by Emma (M) (new)

Emma (M) Tayajay and Bouchra,

As it's less than 24 hours until the next roll, I just wanted to check if you were all good for posting your reviews in time?

Happy's Ever After (Cade Creek #1)

Review:
I have been wanting to read this book for weeks and I'm glad I finally got this off my TBR shelf. The beginning was brutal but I made it thru. I read this book for pure entertainment value over something with depth to it. I read the series that this book is a spinoff from, so I know what I was getting into. The sex scene just didn't gel with me. MC1 who is mentally challenge and virgin said he wasn't ready for that and you (MC2) agreed then cut to me couple swipe of my Kindle to find a scene you are preparing him for full on sex. What was the rush? I get people expect smut in these type of books but who going to complain with the hold up till the end. I would probably be reading the next book because I have no self control with these type of books anyway.

Emma (M) Hi ladies,

I am still waiting for Bouchra's review before we can roll. I have messaged her to let her know so I will roll as soon as the review is posted.
