Poor Jane! That whole chapter just is the exact thing that I hate reading in books. This will give me nightmares again. I don’t know why but I wasn’t expecting him to go after her mom and grandma. Glad everything ended okay. (hide spoiler)]

I'm finding the first part of the book pretty slow and somewhat boring? I'm also not too fond of all of the female characters... they somehow seems so caricatural to me.

I do agree though (view spoiler)[ that I felt superrrr sorry for Nora. I don't think either of the girls deserved what happened to them. Luke's backstory about having an easy manipulated mother that he ended up killing does also not convince me to feel any sorrow for him as well. I really do think he's a petty sociopath that deserves that is most probably coming to him soon. (hide spoiler)]

I'm interested to see how the relationship between Miles and Morgan will play out, although I feel like it's extremely caricaturistic. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I'm happy that they're getting closer to catch the identity thief but I honestly don't like Morgan as a protagonist or a person.
I think she is very cliché, her relationship to Miles is extremely awkward in its progress and I simply don't enjoy the way Roberts writes female characters.
I'm a fan of the obedient dog though.

Also, I don't like how Miles thinks and talks about Morgan - first focus always on her physique and then comments on how she's "just everywhere" so he might as well marry her. Like, the fuck? Why do you guys like each other again?
Also, Morgan is talking like a teenager about her sex life and relationship to Miles.
It's all so infantile and stupid.
In the contrary, I think Nora Roberts is writing great killing scenes and a great portrait of a serial killer.
Maybe she should stick to crimes instead of romance? (hide spoiler)]

This is the first one I’ve read by her, and I didn’t like it at all either. I’m glad some of her other books are better.

I agree! I finished it today and it was a 1-star for me. I didn't like it

just finished last night and wasn't too impressed. I picked this one up because of the mystery aspect, but it felt like that was hardly there. Maybe 10% of the book had the killer's POV. (view spoiler)[ The romance was okay for me, it went from 0 to 100% quick I couldn't get into their relationship. cute small town vibes, but how everything ended was okay (hide spoiler)]

Yes I felt like their romance was a little forced and just progressed because of the circumstances. I didn't feel a spark between them.
I was quite disappointed
