Rolling Stone printed the article on January 1st this year: "The 200 Greatest Singers of All Time - From Sinatra to SZA, from R&B to salsa to alt-rock".

The writers caution: "keep in mind that this is the Greatest Singers list, not the Greatest Voices List. Talent is impressive; genius is transcendent. I should have known better than to propose a theme that would prove as contentious as Rolling Stone's own list.

Re bands: obviously RS included names like Michael Stipe and Mick Jagger so it wouldn't be right for me to exclude any. However, I would ask you to bear in mind RS's own definition : "originality, influence, the depth of an artist’s catalog, and the breadth of their musical legacy." So if you feel that the singer you've nominated (i.e. member of a band) fits that description, go for your life. I won't take issue with it.

Re: Scott Walker. I'm only going to allow one track per artist otherwise we would be voting on which song we preferred rather than which artist. Sorry Fishy.
