Michael (michaelswensson) | 10540 comments The longlist for this years Baileys women's prize for fiction has been announced. The list Features five debut novelists and eight previously shortlisted authors among the 20 novels up for the award. The list will be wittled down to a shortlist of six on April 13 and the winner announced on the 3rd of June.

The 20 books are

Aren’t We Sisters? by Patricia Ferguson

Dear Thief by Samantha Harvey
Elizabeth Is Missing by Emma Healey
Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel

The Country of Ice Cream Star by Sandra Newman
The Girl Who Was Saturday Night by Heather O'Neill
The Bees by Laline Paull
The Table of Less Valued Knights by Marie Phillips
The Walk Home by Rachel Seiffert
A God in Every Stone by Kamila Shamsie
How to be both by Ali Smith
The Shore by Sara Taylor
A Spool of Blue Thread by Anne Tyler

I've readStation Eleven. That's a good one. And I also have A Spool of Blue Thread ready to read.

Sally906 | 6436 comments I have both The Life of a Banana and A Spool of Blue Thread on my TBR pile - I have heard good things about Elizabeth Is Missing so is on the radar.

Of all the awards this one seems to come up with books I love.
