I want to read this for so long and I'm curious if it's really that good as everybody keeps saying. So I'm planing to read this for week 18 too.
I read it in high school, but want to read it again. Great time to do it considering that here second book is coming out soon. This book has some great characters. I loved Scout and Boo Radley.
I've always wanted to read it. Since I first layed an eye on the title, but I've never really got around it. I'm definetelly reading it for that week.
So I've read it over the weekend, finished it today at 3am :D It's a wonderful book and I'm glad I've finally read it.
I'm not reading it for this week, but I have a couple of other weeks it can work for, so I am definitely reading it. I will look forward to your comments!
I remember reading it in high school. I remember just adoring Gregory Peck in the film. I'm going to read it again for this week's challenge criteria because I don't remember it enough to really have too many thoughts on it. I remember not minding it as I did many of the other required reading in high school. Then again, after re-reading a few books I remember disliking in high school, I've come to think that maybe it was more about not wanting to be told what to read than a genuine distaste for the assigned reads. Or maybe I just lacked the maturity to fully appreciate them then. I'm interested to see what the adult me thinks of it.
So far, I'm liking it. I started reading it a few hours ago and I'm about a quarter of the way though. It isn't a difficult read which I'm very much appreciating right now since I'm trying to play catch up while still staying current so I can be present in discussions. I like Scout and her narration of the events is quite charming.
In searching for a book for this week's challenge I realized that, other than reading this in high school, I have not read a single Pulitzer Prize winning book. Hmm.

this book is in my plans for so long... i can barely remember... so i'll be reading it this week too! :D
I've had a busy weekend so I'm not quite halfway through it yet, but I'd forgotten how much I love this book. Scout is such a brilliant character and I love her relationship with her big brother. :-)
One of the buildings near my library burned down a couple of months ago. Some parts of the library were damaged and also some of the books. To kill a Mockinbird was unfortunately one of them, so I haven't got hold of it yet. I hope they'll release it as an e-book soon!
Oh no. I hate to hear that about your library. I never realized that it has never been released as an e-book. I am behind on my reading so I will be coming back to this board to comment when I have finished it. So, maybe that will be around the same time as you, Marina! :)
Sorry, it's just me who didn't express myself good enough :) There is an e-book, but sometimes it takes a while before I can borrow it from the library. I think they only lend out a certain number at the time. So right now I'm on hold but hopefully I'm the next in line.

I got the book... And I loved it! Scout is a great character, but I also really liked Atticus. He is my new favorite dad-character. I admired his calmness and composure no matter what happened or what the kids were up to.I haven't seen the movie, and I'm not sure I want to now. Maybe it'll ruin the book for me!
Started reading this one (finally got it from the library), and stopped reading my "true story" one cause it was a little too heavy for me. Though I am pretty sure if memory serves, the ending of this book is a little heavy too. Ah well.
I've just started this book for this topic. I had a very busy weekend so haven't had any time to actually start reading it yet but I'll be starting it today.

Can't wait to "finally" read it ^-^
