Stuns'al Australian journalist, novelist?

Has anyone heard of an Australian journalist/author , 1930-40's who wrote under the name of Stunsal (sp) ? I saw a movie about him some time ago & am not sure if it was totally fiction of about a real person. Any info appreciated, thanks.
