Hello everyone!I’m Athfa and I’m from Maldives.
I enjoy reading mysteries and fantasy fiction. I haven’t read any self-help books but I’d luke to change it this year. I’ve been very much away from books and this year I’m trying to make a comeback. I didn’t know which group to join but this group seemed interesting..☺️And I’m hoping to read atleast 1 book per month!
Hello. I'm Lulo, from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I'm not good at writing English, but I'll give it a try. My goal for this year is to read at least 12 books.I Enjoy reading mysteries, thriller, history and sports (basketball mostly).
I’ve said hello before but as we have a quite a lot of new people I thought I’d say hello again. My name is Laura, I am from Dudley in the West Midlands, UK and I’ve been an avid reader for my whole life. I love romance and mysteries but I am always open to new genres. My main goal is to read 100 books with 50% having some form of representation (it will also count to my read around the world challenge).
Always up for new friends and new recommendations. Happy reading 😊😊
Hi everyone! My name is Nicole and I am from Kansas. My book goal this year is 52 books and so far, so good. I tend to read historical fiction, fantasy, with the occasional history, autobiography, biography and mystery. A sprinkle of everything. I'm currently reading an autobiography about Ice-T and the Zodiac Academy.
Haiiii My name is Chaterah, but most people call me Chat or Chattie :3
I am planning to read 22 books this year, I've only recently started to love reading all thanks to one of my best friends who introduced me to books.
My favorite book series is The Royals and my favorite book is you've reached Sam. I don't really have a favorite genre to be honest, I am open to all kinds of books.
Hi! I’m Kya and I’m from the UK. I like to read pretty much anything I haven’t figured out what I like in specific. My goal is 40 for this year because I’m a slow reader but I’m already 4 books in.
Hi everyone! My name is Taylor, I'm from California, and my goal is to read 30 books this year. I've been wanting to get more involved in the book community and joining this group seems like a great first step. I enjoy reading from all genres, but I tend to gravitate towards historical fiction and fantasy. I can't wait to join some challenges and connect with you all! Happy reading :)
Hello!! I'm from Michigan, USA and I'm looking forward to being involved in these challenges. This is my 3rd year attempting to complete these challenges :) I came close last year and will try again this year. I enjoy reading historical fiction, fiction, thrillers, murder/mystery, contemporary and romance.....however, I set a goal for myself to step outside of my comfort zone into other genres I normally don't read. So, any recommendations are greatly appreciated!!! My reading goal for 2023 is 70 books....which is 5 more than I read in 2022 of 65 :) I look forward to interacting with my fellow readers this year!!
Happy Reading!!
Hello Everyone, I am Bianca from California. My reading minimum reading goal for 2023 is (65) books, my max is (100) books. I keep getting close to 100 but not quite so maybe this year. I like to ready anything and everything, except that I have not read much self-help type books. I found the group randomly searching Goodreads for new challenges and challenging myself to join more Book Clubs and/or make more book friends. Good luck to everyone and their reading goals for 2023.
Hi eveyone, I'm Lizzie from Essex, UK. My reading goal for 2022 minimum is 50 but I am really hoping to do higher than that as usually I read more. I enjoy almost all genres but particularly fantasy, historical fiction and sci-fi. I am new to goodreads and found this group randomly looking. I am really looking forward to finding some new recommendations and challenge inspirations as I really want to find some new books to read. I am currently re-reading Zone One by Colson Whitehead and planning to go on either to The Atlas Six or King of Ashes next. Good luck in 2023 with the reading goals everyone!
Hello! My name is Federica and I am an Italian living in Stockholm, Sweden. My goal is to read at least 20 pages in Swedish or English every day during my commute to/from work (40 minutes in total). Five working days a week makes it 100 pages a week, which means an average-length book per month. Therefore, 12 books in 2023 is my baseline. I read more than 15 books last year, so I’m going for 17 in 2023 :)
Welcome to the group, everyone!Have a look around and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions :)
We have plenty of monthly, yearly, and quarterly challenges to dive into.
Have fun and best of luck with your reading goals :)
Amazing Afternoon! I hope things are going well in your part of the world. My name is Boukman, I live in Philadelphia, PA, USA. I love high fantasy and YA. Now I'm more focused on career and business books so I'm mainly reading tech, personal finance, and business books moving forward. My reading goal for 2023 is to read 100 books! Last year I got to 65, I know it is possible for me this year because I read more than anyone I know. Also, I got off of the major social media platforms, and I'm switching the time I would spend listening to music to listening to an audiobook instead.
Auspicious Energy.

Hello and 'happy whenever' everyone :)My name is Lina and I currently live in Southern Germany.
I love to read - and I also really like talking to people about books I/we have read, to exchange recommendations and have recently found that I really enjoy buddy reads.
I enjoy reading books from pretty much all genres (as long as I get to read!).
A couple of weeks ago I sorted through my shelves in Goodreads (that is to say, I finally created shelves) and found that I have lately mainly been reading fantasy / sci-fi and young-adult (while I was busy tackling big medical tomes those seemed to be my go-to books), so after my final college exam in December I have been trying to branch out again - and so far it has been a lot of fun.
I found this group by accident and it seemed like it might be a very fun place to be - I am looking forward to getting to know some of you! (Please feel free to add or message me if you want!)
My reading challenge is 50 books this year, it's the first time I am participating and I will see how it goes (but I am off to a promising start).
Hi! I'm new the group. I'm an avid romance reader and author. I started my reading challenge before finding this group. Looking forward to interacting.Kaia Misk
Hi, I'm Nadene, from London. I'm doing my first reading challenge this year. Pretty excited to be honest, feels nice to be working towards a little goal. I've mostly been reading fantasy/ romance/ historical fiction, but i'm pretty open to all genres. Happy to escape into all sorts of different worlds.
Hello! I'm Danny from the United states of America. Due to having some issues recently and the factthat ive never made my reading goal before on goodreads, I set it to 6 this year. My previous years have been pretty low as well. I strygglewith clnsistant reading and go on phases where i love it then hate it. Ive already read 4 books however, I think I'm going to reach my goal for the first year :D!!! I read a variety of things but I like historacal fictiom, realistic fiction, dystopia, and books with main or supporting characters who I can relate too on thimgs such as queerness, mental health, and neurodivergence. :)
Lisa wrote: "Welcome all! Hope you enjoy being part of the community and have great reading year in 2023! :)"Thank you Lisa <3 You too x
hello from derbyshire, i like to read mostly romance and YA novels and some fantasy. i would like to read some different genres in 2023 as for the past year i’ve only really read the same genre of books. my reading goal for 2023 is 25 books but i hope i can read more.
Hi everyone! My name is Kelly :) I love reading and would love to have some book friends on here! My goal for the year is 75. So far my favorite read this year has been “The Prettiest Star”. Would love to connect with anyone, add me as a friend!
Hi everyone! I am Allison from Massachusetts! I like a variety of books and am trying to use Goodreads as a way to branch out and read a little bit of everything. I always loved reading but did not make it a priority to find time for pleasure reading. My goal for this year was set to 12 books, though I have already read 4 and am trying to learn how to fit reading in during my busiest time for work (I am a CPA in tax so I will have much more time to read this summer than I do now)! I am super excited to join this group with the hopes to discuss some books and find some who are interested in the same books as me and can recommend more!! I also love the idea of a group read sometimes. I have been trying to figure out if there are any book clubs around me I can join and have not had any luck so a virtual one the next thing I was going to look into!
Hi everyone! I'm Tyra and I'm in California. I've always loved reading and writing, and I've recently decided to become a little more involved in the reading community so it doesn't feel like as much of a solo hobby for me. My goal for the year is 20 books, but I'm hoping that joining this group and a few others on Goodreads will help motivate me to read even more. My favorite genres are thriller, suspense, mystery, and adult fiction as a whole, and I love love love my local library. I'm looking forward to making progress on my reading challenge this year and seeing everyone else's progress as well! Feel free to add me if you'd like to stay connected or just want to expand your reading buddy network :)
Hello! I'm Niks from India. I'm trying to come back to reading after not reading anything for a year. Trying to up my reading game! I also have a bookstagram and artsgram: https://www.instagram.com/nikitaaaart/
Hiya Everyone I'm Maleka!... Everyone calls me Leka for short. I'm from New Jersey, and actually just started getting back into reading this year. I can honestly say it feels like I'm falling in love with it all over again lol. My favorite genre of books are Memoirs, true crime, paranormal, and suspense. I'm very excited to be a part of this group, and can't wait to see what's in store. Overall, I'm pretty much just looking for fun new ways to enjoy reading, and hopefully meeting new friends in the process. 😊

I am Christine ! I am a semi retired wife of almost 43 years to the best hubby ever! I am a momma to 2 grown married sons and I have 2 precious grandchildren (Girl 8 boy 6) I have been an avid reader since kindergarten! I learned to read at age 4! I like most genres except for horror/gore and explicit books!
Do cookbooks count as books? I am an avid cookbook reader/collector! Also knit/crochet and craft books!
Christine wrote: "Do cookbooks count as books? I am an avid cookbook reader/collector! Also knit/crochet and craft books!"Personally, I wouldn't because I don't read cookbooks cover to cover. But that's just me.
Considering you buy them in bookstores, and you're using time to read them. I think its fair to count them as books.
Ultimately, it's your challenge, so if you want them to count, count them :)
Hello My name is Jamie and I'm from Maine. I've always been a reader thanks to my mom. And I usually try to read 100 books a year. But for the last 2 years I've been in a reading slump. So this year I'm trying to read 50 books. I really read almost anything. My favorite book of all time is Alice in Wonderland/and Through the Looking Glass.
Hi I’m Star from NC, I mostly lean towards science fiction and thrillers but I occasionally like a pop of romance. I found this group by searching 2023 funny enough😂!! My goal for 2023 is 50 books if not more!
Hello everyone,my name is Gina and I'm 23 years old. I'm from Germany and I want to join an English speaking group to improve my english. My book goal for 2023 is to read 75 books (Including manga).
And I read many genres, but my favorites are horror and fantasy. I also like to read non-fiction.

Hey everyone! I’m Alena) I’m currently set at reading 70 books this year, hope that i’ll do good. At the moment i’m getting ready for exams which are coming this may, so the literature i’m reading is mostly for them, but from time to time i find a book to read and escape the anxieties that those exams bring. Right now i decided to read “Persuasion” by Jana Austen, cause i love a period drama (especially Austen’s). I have also just finished watching a show (period drama as well) called Poldark, so i’m kinda set on 19 century aesthetic at the moment
Heyy, I' Celina from Germany. I have never been in any reading group so I'm very glad I found this group.
My favorite genres are fantasy, science fiction, romance, thrillers, mysteries and mangas. I read almost 60 books last year so I wanted to challenge myself to read 65 books this year.
Wish you all good luck with your goals : )
Hi everyone, I am from Canada. I love reading mystery, murder cases, historical fictions and romance novels. I really don’t know how to Participate. I like to try and see how having reading buddy or twin will add to my already existing love for books. It sounds exciting.

A Buddy Read for Emma is taking place in the month of March, if you'd be interested in continuing on a Jane Austen journey.
Good luck with your exams :)

Welcome to the group, I hope you enjoy our challenges and activities.
Hey my name is Lilli and I'm from the Cincinnati area. I love reading fantasy, thrillers, and romance books!
Hello! My name is William – this is the first Goodreads group I'm engaging with so a bit nervous but excited! I'm 27 and a history PhD student from Lincoln, Nebraska. I read a lot of historical scholarship for "work," so I'm reading classics and contemporary on the side. I've just finished du Maurier's "Trilby," and Edrich's "The Night Watchman," and have moved onto Tolstoy's "Anna Karenina," and Victor Hugo's "The Man Who Laughs." Needless to say, I have a long way to go in each. But I hope I can contribute to some discussions and learn from all of you along the way!
