The Kingdom of Amandla discussion

The pair began walking down the hallway, Adrian looking around as he tried to pinpoint exactly where they were. Ah, they were close to the main gate. Adrian released his grip of Avalon, letting her free. Adrian approached a rather large painting and narrowed his eyes at it, taking it in. Using the sword, he quickly sliced it right down the middle. He moved the destroyed art aside and nodded at Avalon, "Lets go."
Avalon ducked through the opening, and once her father had followed, moved the painting as best she could to somewhat cover the opening. Might give them a little extra time if their escape route wasn’t obvious. The passage was dark, and it took Avalon’s eyes a moment to adjust. “Just a bit further,” she murmured, both for her own sake as much as Adrian’s. This day had been a nightmare, and the girl was exhausted. She let her father take the lead and followed close behind, steps silent. Avalon could only pray that they didn’t run into any more trouble.
Adrian led them through the tunnels. They eventually reached the outside. He pulled her into the alleyway, shutting the trapdoor behind them.
Avalon turned around and faced her father, offering him a crooked smirk. They’d done it. They had really done it. Her celebration was short lived. Avalon’s face soon dropped all emotion as she thought of her next steps. “Go. I’m staying,” she said quietly, though decisively. Adrian would not ruin her life as he did his own. Avalon had plans, and this couldn’t get in the way.
