Some of these clues made me want to read the book and then when I found out what they were I had either already read it or was like, "Yeah, no."
The clues on the travel one have not helped. Unfortunately. Only one I have left. Think I will out aside again.
Just a short check-in for me. I've finished nothing since the last check-in, but I'm making progress on everything that is in progress. I remain at 19/40 and 6/10 for this challenge and 63/75 for my overall Goodreads Reading Challenge. Not sure if I'll finish all of the prompts this year but that's ok with me. I'll just see how far I get by the end of the year :) Finished:

* The Hatak Witches by Devon A. Mihesuah, which I'm planning to use for the "witches" prompt;
* The Locked Room by Elly Griffiths, which was in my backlog of NetGalley books; and,
* The Secret Rescue: An Untold Story of American Nurses and Medics Behind Nazi Lines by Cate Lineberry, which is one of my book clubs' picks for November.
Question of the Week:
Are you reading or planning to read any specific books in November for “Nonfiction November” or “Novellas in November” or perhaps (in the US) related to Thanksgiving or as I prefer to think of it, Native American Heritage Month honoring Indigenous People? Well, one of my currently reading books is non-fiction and another is by an author who is an enrolled citizen of the Choctaw Nation and a Chickasaw descendant. But I didn't pick either specifically because it was November. I don't have any titles planned for any November themes.

Hi all! You've got me intrigued with your book hunting, but I seem to have limited brain cells, so I'm going to ignore it for now.My cold is mostly gone, but I'm still lethargic. The weather was gorgeous for most of the week, but I didn't have the energy. Today it rained all day, so I took advantage and napped most of the day.
I haven't read much (sorry The House in the Cerulean Sea group readers!). Also haven't written much in Nano, but some is better than I had been doing!
QOTW: I recently heard about Montana 1948 which is not written by a Native author, but appears to have a central Native character, so I'll see how that goes. I do still have Shark Dialogues lingering around which was written by a Native Hawaiian. I always have some nonfiction laying around, but nothing that I've started yet, so I'll see if I get to anything.

Nova or Secrets of the Dead (I think it was Nova) on PBS had a similar show that I was able to listen to because they had audio translations, it was fascinating.

Jennifer — Was the other one you listened to “Notre-Dame: Race Against the Inferno”? It followed the steps taken to try to save the cathedral from the first alarm until the fire was finally suppressed. That one had voiceovers instead of subtitles.

Some writing is always better than no writing. I've been doing NaNo for 20 years (holy crap!) and that is the one lesson I have internalized. Words > No Words. Even my disaster of a 2002 novel, with only got to 18,836 words and I hated the plot, the characters and that stupid bar, was better than not writing in 2004.

Yes. Look at the (view spoiler) list again. I just tried googling and it was the second result. And the drawing is also a clue, it goes together.

The "life" books on the shelf are two clues, each clue has two books. It sounds like you found both of them (but didn't solve both of them yet).
There are 8 clues on the second floor (confidential door, lady in blue dress, tie dye guy, bird, snowman, doorway, and the two that are "life" books), then 2 clues on stairs (Eve on the stairs, and the lady on the ladder), and then the remaining ten clues are on the first floor (dog, counter, apple, the two tables of books, nature, travel, Arrakis poster, cat, kids playing cards). Where are you missing the clue?

It talked about saving and restoring the stained glass, finding new trees to rebuild the roof, and using fossils to find where they quarried the original stones.
I know what was happening on my clues but I hope I can describe this in a clear way. Clues I solved days ago weren't recognized as solved. At the time I solved them they were acting like they were solved but today I had to reenter the answer. The counter is now showing 19/20. Thank You Nadine for your list of floors. I had my husband making sure the clues said they were solved while I read out the clues. I have done this several times before but today was the charm.
I have one clue left. The two life books of the same size. I solved the small life book with a big life book beside it days ago.

I thought that too. Maybe they thought it would make it too easy, but I still would have struggled with it.

When I went back later and tried them again because I knew they had to be right, it accepted them.
Second week in the books and things are busy and a bit overwhelming. That combined with the temperatures dropping into the 30s this weekend has made for a perfect couch mode. I feel like I haven't picked up a book all week. :(63/80 GoodReads Challenge

I'm currently reading Elatsoe, so that would fit and I did finish Bad Blood earlier which is NF. I wasn't particularly planning to read anything for this month's theme, however serendipity played nicely.

Oh wow Lynn- what a week you've had! Is your nose ok? Did you end up breaking it? Also how are you feeling after the deer incident? That all sounds absolutely traumatizing.

Can't remember if I shared this book: The Myth of Normal: Trauma, Illness, and Healing in a Toxic CultureI was introduced to it this past week via a bipolar support group I visit. The book sounded interesting. It's long so I won't finish and I annotate but I'll still count it towards my November reads.
That's always something I have a hard time with. I can never finish a book all the way through because it takes forever to read them since I annotate, especially nonfiction books. So if I can get through at least 1/3 or 1/2 of them then I count them. If not then I don't.
Yikes, Lynn, rough week! I hope you are ok, from the fall on your nose and hitting the deer!I finished one book this week, but it was quite an accomplishment because I've been working on this one for months. It's just a hard read due to subject matter (for me at least), the conditions through which the people live felt unendingly miserable. The book is Tell it All A Woman's Life in Polygamy by Fanny Stenhouse. It's well told, it's just very heavy reading. I think the author brings us into her despair only too well!
QOTW: I've been reading a lot of nonfiction lately, and I expect to fit some more in this month.
What have I unleashed? I am sorry (not sorry) for everyone's drop in productivity.
