What an interesting topic. I almost exclusively read history and biography and had no idea about the Libyan Amazons.

What kind of feedback are you looking for from your Beta-readers?

I'll be honest, I don't have any experience as an official Beta-reader (except on Critique Corner), but I just published my first full-length biography and I know how hard it is to find qualified Beta-readers in the history/biography categories. Having used some myself, I quickly realized that most Beta-readers read the manuscript like a fiction piece, which meant the feedback was not what I was looking for.

While I have never officially Beta-read, I have an eye for detail and a great appreciation for research. Since I can't give you any references from previous reads, I can tell you that I basically ended up being my own Beta-reader and was told by my editor that it was one of the cleanest manuscripts he'd received in decades of experience.
