it still blows my mind people can go missing - it feels like someone is filming everywhere or there's cameras or something. but the wilderness would be the one place people can definitely disappear

but I couldn't help but wonder how Celeste could kill the others. I'm so glad that wasn't the answer.
I didn't start to wonder about Harris until way too late. Him warning Abby was enough to make me think he was a good guy. Wow, and to have buried them on his property. awful
I'm glad he confessed and didn't make it ugly

I'm midway through chapter 3 and slightly confused... everything seems to progress pretty slow but at the same time the narrator seems close to a lie all of the time! Same thing for the "second" or "third" cause of death on the hiking trails.

I'm 1/3 into the book and I still have no guesses what-so-ever! What's going on and could this really be more than simple "natural" disappearances? I don't think there's a crazy killer going lose.

Chapter 1-4: (view spoiler)[There's an air of mystery surrounding the inn and I am a bit frustrated by the way narrator is slipping us details in a slow and excruciating matter. My mind keeps revolving around what the second and third cause of deaths was that she talked about. I am wondering if Trey has really disappeared like his brother or was it just a false alarm. The way this whole town talks about disappearances seems creepy to me ngl especially Marina (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 5-9 : (view spoiler)[I am not really liking that Abby is letting herself get entangled in the mystery, I feel like this could come back to bite her in the ass. All the disappearances look like they could be connected for sure despite what she says and now my doubts keep lingering on Celeste and now late Vincent tbh, they seem like an odd couple to me. I also feel like Georgia knows more than she is letting on (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 10-14: (view spoiler)[Now I feel like everyone is this weird little town is hiding something - even the sheriff otherwise why would Georgia rent a locker in Abby's name? Everyone who disappeared was related to the inn in one way or the other and Abby finding out that the bag she has been using belonged to Alice was quite disturbing. Looks like Landon may have discovered something he wasn't supposed to find out (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 15-18 : (view spoiler)[DO NOT TELL ME ABBY IS CELESTE'S DAUGHTER?? I feel like Celeste made Georgia disappear because she was probably too close to finding out the truth. I am a little scared for Abby rn considering Rochelle is looking a bit too intimidating rn warning Abby the way she is to stay away. I am getting imatient to find out what exactly is the story behind all these bizarre disappearances (hide spoiler)]

Finished: (view spoiler)[What the hell, I cannot say I was expecting even a fraction of this ending. The incidents weren't connected after all the way I suspected but everything that unfolded was kind of unbelievable ngl, two great mysteries in such a small town and the murders going undetected for so long. I also didn't feel like the author did justice to Trey's character, it was all just wrapped up quickly towards the end (hide spoiler)]

This is interesting so far. I'm curious what happened to the people who disappeared. Did they get lost on the trail or was is something more nefarious? I'm not too sure about Trey's character, he seems quite volatile so far. I like Abby although she's quite reserved so far. I wonder where this will go now that they found Landon's hidden flashdrive.

The fact Abby ended up with one of the missing women's backpack is crazy. How did it get into the inn's lost and found when she was last seen in town? I feel like someone from town is definitely involved in the disappearances. My money is currently on the sheriff or Corey, they're both very cagey.

How did Georgia end up with the stuff from two of the missing people? And why did she put it in a locker under Abby's name? The clue with the photo is interesting and I wonder who from the inn took the picture? And what exactly was Rochelle implying about Abby? Is she not really Vincent's niece?

Wow, that was not the direction I was expecting things to go. Abby's connection to one of the disappeared men was a surprise. It's terrible that she won't ever get to know where her father is buried. I didn't expect Harris to be the one who killed the 3 more recent people but I liked how the author worked in that connection.

Overall I really enjoyed this one.
