SOLVED. YA/ Children Fantasy series - Main characters were three "almost orphans", pied piper was the villain. [s]

i read this book about five-eight years ago. this is all i can currently remember:

- had elements of fairy tales
- had a long segment set in the candy cottage from hansel and gretel
- three siblings: oldest liked baking, middle loved fireworks and had a special shed dedicated to her explosions, baby was called anything and could speak full sentences.
- their mother died in childbirth and the father disappeared, i think
- there was a boy with one blue eye and one green eye, i think he was cursed. he was a love interest for the eldest sister
- the pied piper was a main part of the story, i believe he used wolves as weapons/henchmen and he was evil
