I liked it just fine and thought it was a sweet romance (pun intended) ... and I loved the recipes!

The Heartbreak Bakery is a young adult rom-com about Syd, an agender teen that works in a bakery that caters to the LGBTQ+ community in Austin, Texas. After a devastating break-up, Syd bakes brownies and puts all her breakup emotions into them. Afterwards, anyone that eats the brownies breaks up with their significant other(s). After noticing the effect the brownies has on Syd's customers and friends, Syd is determined to fix things. With the help of the bakery's delivery person, Harley, Syd bakes up a bunch of goodies with new emotions hoping to put everything right again.
This was a very fun book. I loved reading about the diverse community of the bakery and its customers. Syd is still figuring out and makes lots of mistakes, but he/she/they never became annoying to me like some other young adult protagonists do. The romance is sweet and since it is a young adult book, pretty clean. If you are looking for a book that has representative characters and relationships from all of the flavors of the LGBTQ+ community, give this one a try.
