I read the first 3 books in the series a few years back, wasn't that much of a fan, BUT the books had something that made me turn the pages so I guess that's a plus.
I'm listening to the book while also reading it, and even though I know Juliette is a teenager and her voice is supposed to be young sounding I find it a little weird while listening to the narrator. I guess I haven't listened to many young narrators.
I like that it's set in some post apocalyptic world, I just hope we'll get out of the room she's locked in very soon.
Oh, the betrayal.. Although, when you think of it, it kinda makes sense.. I mean you don't see anyone for a year, and then boom they lock another person with you? it's suspicious.

Sorry I haven't been active I was out of town. But going into this i didn't realize that there were supposed to be things crossed out but I have to say I've grown to love that part of the book. I agree with the thing that you said about it almost sounding too descriptive, maybe I don't have a great way with words though. Right off the bat I liked the "can't touch anyone trope" is that a trope?? probably. I'm kinda sad that went away but I see why. Adam..talk about too good to be true. Like cares about her, she knows him from her past, and wants to free her?? I don't know whether to be suspicious or grateful but I seriously hope that it works out for them they seem perfect for each other...maybe(I'm praying the Ms. Mafi doesn't turn it around on us). Warren is just a no for me almost "too bad boy" just comes off as creepy and stalkery. I can't wait so sit down and finish the rest of this book I'm really loving it.

I wasn't able to pick the book up for a few days, I wanted to finish other things I was reading.. but I managed to finish it today. It's too late now, but tomorrow I'll commend on the second part of the book.
kenji is officially my favorite character. I have a feeling he's getting killed off sometime in the series.
Soooo the ending I don't like it when books do this. When they like go to a "safe haven" or whatever it makes me think that it's not safe and something is going to happen ahhhh. Anyways I have no theories about why certain people can touch her maybe like if you love her....actually no that's stupid. I liked the characters we ended off with Adam's little bro, Adam, Juliette, and Kenji. They have a great balance of getting things done and jokes which are awesome. I love it when characters can joke about the predicament that's they're in because that's my type of humor. And for some reason I always enjoy when someone finds out Juliette and Adam can touch it's just so funny to me.

🤣 Obviously things are going to happen.. I mean the series originally had 3 books, but now has 6, at least I think it's 6, there must be something. We didn't see much of the world, or the regime and all the wrong things with it, and we also at the end got that powers are a thing. There are a lot of things that we need answers to, plus there will be more questions later 😂
Love Kenji.. and when he appeared I remembered I liked his character the first time I read it so it's great that that hasn't changed. Although, my rating will change from the previous one. I guess reading it in the original language it was written is much better than the translation.
I started the novella that's in Warner's pov, but hadn't had time to finish it 🤞🤞 I can do it today.
Are Lexie and you planning on continuing the series?

I’ve had a lot of things do do so I haven’t finished yet. It’s soooo good so far. I can already tell that I’ll love the characters!
I hope there is more kenji content in the next books. I can already tell that I love his character so much. I just don't like adam, he gives me major stalker vibes for no real reason.
I don't really like Warner either. Of the two I would prefer Juliette ending up with Warner. I just can't say I like either right now.
also the fact the when she finally meets a person she can touch they make out soon after. like, you haven't been touched in years but the second you meet a man who can touch you start making out? (i'm so tired so that probably made no sense but it does to sleep deprived me)
I'm probably going to give it 4 stars regardless, but it just doesn't make sense to me to not make it more of a sad scene than romantic.

🤣 Adam the stalker.. but 🤔 when you think a bit about it he could be a bit 😂😅 And yea, I'm not team Adam.. Warner is a psycho buuuut we like kinda psychotic guys in books 😅😅😅 But yes, in book 1 no one was wow.
It makes sense don't worry. That annoyed me too.. the logic 😂
Now that both of you finished the book (or close to finishing it because I can't see on my phone if Lexie finished it) are you planning on reading the next one? And soon? 😅 I started it and I think I'm somewhere around 20-ish % but would wait if you guys want to read it because I like discussing with buddies.
I’m down the read the rest of the series. I have the first four in paperback and I think my library has the rest. I don’t know if Josie is planning of finishing the series or not. I finished the first one last night.

Also, are you going to read the novellas? The 1.5 novella is Warner's pov and it's taking place right after Shatter me when he's shot. It may not be of a big importance, but you get to know things about him.
