@Darcey
Don't worry, I'm in the same boat. I was so proud for being behind only 2 days and boom 2nd job came.
It's so boring in my shift today so I'll try reading a bit now.

haha good luck with your 2nd job, mina!
i finally managed to finish woo... even though i had to sacrifice a bit of sleep😅
end of book @yegi
I found that I didn't understand the relation between ramson, Alaric kerlan and roran ferrald. correct me if I'm wrong but if alaric is the real father of ramson then how sorsha is related to ramdon as well? alaric is her father or roran?🤔 Alaric said ferrald was his friend once and ramson was brought up somehow with him.
sis... i don't know where you got alaric being the real father of ramsom from?? i'm pretty sure - though i could be wrong, mina can be the deciding vote haha - that roran ferrald was ramsom's real father, but ramsom was a bastard because ferrald never married ramsom's mother or whatever. but yeah i don't think alaric was his dad, he just became indoctrinated into his gang when he left the navy. but i could be wrong!
not going to lie, i have absolutely no idea who Daya is... she seems to be an important character and everyone knows her, but i don't remember her introduction at all haha. was she in book #1??
Ana learns where she needs to go to make her next move and she’s like, okay, I’m going to go off across the world, Ramson will understand. And I’m like . . . what? They had a designated meeting point; she could have met up with him before gallivanting off to save the world. And, it makes absolute sense that Ramson is like, okay, you’re not coming to our meeting point; that’s okay, I’ll chase you wherever you go.
hahaha yes that really annoyed me too!! i was so confused why they didn't all just wait in their damn meeting spot for the other one to catch up... that could have saved Ana being stabbed and everything. it was very chaotic.
otherwise, i agree with most of your thoughts Yegi, there definitely was a little emotional depth missing in this book, though i did still enjoy it! i want more romance between Ramsom and Ana but they keep separating ahhh... and yeah we definitely didn't get much Morganya in this book, but now that both farrald sr and alaric are dead, i'm sure she'll be more important. i still love the debate about monarchies, and i hope we get more of that in the final book!
also i was right about Kais kinda betraying them, but at least he changed his mind in the end haha. and i still love Linn!
oh and rip Ana's friendship with whatshisname (yuri? yumi? i've forgotten haha) he's clearly lost it after seeing his mother dead... it'll be interesting to see what happens there.
OH AND DAMN i hate when characters lose their magic, especially female characters (because it seems to happen all the time?!) so i really hope Ana gets her magic back! that made me really sad, especially after she'd learnt to heal and had gotten better at controlling her powers! i'm so mad :(( she better get them back... damn sorscha, she's so insane haha.
I'm on chapter 51 now, I'll write a longer comment tonight when I get home, but I have to say now, this book got intense! To be honest I was getting bored with it 😅
I'm here to settle things 😂 Ramson is Ferrald's son. The reason, I'm assuming, why Alaric is calling him son is because he took him in after Ramson fled Bregon, and he was close to Alaric, by that I mean he was his second, no? If not his second than something that's close to that.
I'm preeeeety sure Daya was not in book one.. Ramson looked her up in this book when he needed a ship to get to Bregon.. that's at least how I got it.
So the thoughts are... I enjoyed the writing because I liked the book even though in the first half of the book nothing happened, I mean I got bored but I still enjoyed it, you know? Now as for the story, at first it looked like a typical filler book, I mean it can still be that too, but it got more interesting when the betrayal happened. I was so shocked when Kais betrayed them, thankfully he got back to his senses (which was way to fast and easy to do)(also screw Seying, I'm moving my obsession to Kais). From that point on things were interesting and I liked that we FINALLY had things happening, however, I agree, it was rushed.
Morganya as the enemy... well it's a bit laughable when you think we hadn't seen her at all.. or maybe we did a bit in the beginning? I don't even remember. Either way, her page time is insignificant. On the other hand I like Sorcha as the enemy, that was more believable to me. That too needed more work, but I liked her as the enemy.
Yes, I want Ransom and Ana to get together.. however I'm not so torn about them not getting together yet. Dragging it out and having just a tad of romance between them works for me. AND I kinda like that they are separating their ways 😅 They are not being a typical YA romance where they change their goals for someone they met and fell for, they are going for the things that push them. Now that I mention that, I really like that they are their own persons willing to do things they had set as some kind of goals instead of changing their believes because they met a love interest.
Kais and Linn... Like, I don't care that much about Ransom and Ana, give me more Kais and Linn 😂 I really wanted more. Also, I don't know why, maybe the flying thing, but Linn reminds me of Vin from The Final Empire, which could be another reason I like her.
I know this BR has been a biiiiit out of control, but I liked reading with someone, and discussing it. If you guys are up for more chaotic and probably slow reading from me... would you like to read the third book together too?

ok guys i get it now, I did know that roran ferrald was ransom's father just wasn't sure and since Alaric kept saying "son" i was confused too, and yeah i guess he was just his crime lord boss or something, all in all glad to have this two assholes gone🙂👍OH AND DAMN i hate when characters lose their magic, especially female characters (because it seems to happen all the time?!) so i really hope Ana gets her magic back!
@Darcey IKR?? ahhh it's so stupid and annoying and my least favorite trope 😅 and it doesn't help that when mcs lose their power it's mostly when shits only just began. SO NO NO we have to see Ana's power back

@mina agreed, YA can be really typical on book 2 of a trilogy so there's that, and the ending has to promise something for the future. as for kais, he was sus from first sooo, yeah.🤘

yeah, exactly my words, she just seems so 1d and no motives (except for the typical power-thristy and all) but can say sorscha kinda helped the villain part, i dunno i have to read the rest to judge that.

girl i agree, it just seemed so unrealistic of them to not communicate well, like they keep things from each other and ransom literally said to Ana's face that it's better i keep my words to myself to not promise anything i can't keep, okay that's fine but no???😅😅
as for linn, now that you say it, yes there are definitely some similarity to her and Vin lol.
yes ofc i enjoyed as well, so far i had read this books it's the finale i look forward to and ofc I'd like to BR the finale what else I'm here for?😅
@mina haha yessss i love the comparison between Linn and Vin because i definitely see it!! and yes about time you moved on from Seying my girl😂
Next month?
Spring fling lasts till the end of this month and even though I'm not going to read anything, I STILL have that one BR to finish. I'm hoping to finish it today because I have a day off, but in case I don't tomorrow I work only the first shift so I'll have time after work.

yeah sure :)
mina wrote: "Only now the question is when this month? 😂"hmm... not sure, my july is pretty busy so i'll probably go slow either way, so your choice haha
As I'm still slumpy I don't mind reading slow or even next month 😂 But we also need to see what Yehaneh says.

OK guys I finished the book, spoilers ahead
the way sorsha killed Ferrald 😃 but when poor ramson was nearly killed again by that asshole of a father, lucky that daya was there which brings me to my question. I found that I didn't understand the relation between ramson, Alaric kerlan and roran ferrald. correct me if I'm wrong but if alaric is the real father of ramson then how sorsha is related to ramdon as well? alaric is her father or roran?🤔 Alaric said ferrald was his friend once and ramson was brought up somehow with him.
anyways, is it me or any of you as well that the ending seemed too fast reserved??? i feel like something definitely happened but it's as if nothing happened??😅 come to think of it, i feel like this book despite the actions and plot, lacks real emotional depth in certain parts, Like, I just started to feel for the character and next thing I know, it’s like okay, on to the next plot point. I wish the characters were given some time to process and work through their emotions on the page rather than in Zhao’s head.
i really didn't understand where was morganya in this time, we got nothing of her as a villain which was disappointing and even though we had Alaric and co, we could have get something more, like what happened to seyin, even though last chapter we got a glimpse and i guess maybe in next book(for @mina's sake😂). and speaking of, it's about time for seyin to choose side now.
the scene with linn and kais, hmmm that was also rushed, not sure i got it right, again, lack of emotions🙄
Another thing that really bothered me that might be an “it’s not you, it’s me”. Ana and Ramson are journeying together but have gone out for the night to meet their own informants etc. Not long after, Ana learns where she needs to go to make her next move and she’s like, okay, I’m going to go off across the world, Ramson will understand. And I’m like . . . what? They had a designated meeting point; she could have met up with him before gallivanting off to save the world. And, it makes absolute sense that Ramson is like, okay, you’re not coming to our meeting point; that’s okay, I’ll chase you wherever you go. Characters communicate very poorly in Red Tigress. 😶 also, now that things heated up, they decided to part again. like why?? ://
to give them credit, their connection here felt more grounded in reality. In Blood Heir, the attraction between the two hardly felt at all natural; it felt like Zhao was forcing them to be together. But there’s an understanding between the both of them in Red Tigress even though there are too many obstacles in their separate lives they need to resolve before they can spend forever in each other’s arms.
wow i talked a lot, i really like to analysis things. in general even though this was a reread for the finale for me, i felt a little disappointed than my first read, but in contrast i liked the first book better haha.
look forward to your thoughts :)
