Hey Bobbi,
I read Turbulence already in 2021. If you want to re-pick a bonus book, I would love it. If not, you can pick from the same shelf I listed

A Good Day for Chardonnay by Darynda Jones

Book - A Good Day for Chardonnay
Author - Darynda Jones
Date Read - 5/11/22
Rating 5 Stars
Review - It's Darynda Jones and I absolutely love her writing. It's weird, quirky, and fun. I yelled loudly when it ended on a cliffhanger because I have to wait until December before the next book comes out and we were just getting to the good part where the MC tells her love interest that she remembers what happened 15 years ago when she was kidnapped, who saved her, and the identity of her daughter's father. I hope by some miracle that it gets published earlier.

Marty (martymill) | 1308 comments Shockingly, I finished all three books last weekend. Has to be some kind of record.

Bath Massacre America's First School Bombing by Arnie Bernstein - rating 4 stars
I'd never heard of this mass killing before. The bomber was a local man on the school board. Part of his mass of explosives didn't even go off, but it still killed a tragic number of children in this small town. There were still some survivors alive when the book was written, and their recollections were chilling.

Death of a Cheerleader (Notorious USA Kentucky) by Gregg Olsen - rating 3 stars. This was a compilation of several cases and the coverage was naturally a little superficial. Not as interesting as the other two.

Tombstone The Earp Brothers, Doc Holliday, and the Vendetta Ride from Hell by Tom Clavin - this was the best of the three, 5 stars.
The author did a good job of researching the events leading up to what became the shootout at the OK corral. I doubt that any needs the spoiler alert that it didn't happen the way the movies generally depict it. The 1990 Kurt Russell film is probably the closest. It debunks a lot of the myths that surround the circumstances in Tombstone, the status and behavior of cowboys at the time, and th lives of the major players.

Penumbra | 493 comments Finished all three books for May, but still need to write review for the last one. Here are two so far:

After the Scrum by Dahlia Donovan - 2 Stars. This was a mess in my opinion, which was different from other readers. My review lists all the reasons this story didn't work. Turned me off from this author's writing, so I'm likely not going to read anything by them again.

Reign of Terrier (The Soul Mutts Series Book 2) by Lori R. Taylor - 3 Stars. I liked book one better. There were too many inconsistences and odd messaging for me in this one.

How to Date a Dragon (Here Be Dragons #0.5) by Louisa Masters - 3 Stars. The beginning was confusing because this prelude is a spin-off from another series and the author dumped too many characters and info at the start. Great character voices though, and great humor.
