Robin (robinmy) | 2466 comments I enjoyed this story. The killer was never on my radar. It was a real surprise to find out the identity of The Cowboy.

I do have a question. It has to do with this series and other long-running suspense series...Why does the medical examiner or forensic scientist call the lead detective and demand they meet just to give them some information that could have been given to them over the phone??? In this book Tracy had to meet with someone just to be told that the DNA or fingerprints (I forget which) were not in the database or did not match their suspect. This happens in many books and it drives me crazy.

You raise a good point. When this happens on TV, the medical examiner is actually showing them the evidence and results of the tests. I imagine the same is happening here.

I’m loving this series and Tracy. She’s not perfect but she’s smart, resourceful and a team player. Her teammates respect and admire her because she’s earned it.

I was lost in figuring out the killer because there were so many good suspects. It was all about good police work in tracking him down and that makes it a great story.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3501 comments Robin I think it depends on the investigator. Some detectives like to see the evidence, while others are fine with reading the report. For me, Tracy needs to be hands-on.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3501 comments I'm with you two. I love this series and the characters. Tracy is one of my new favorites. I'm hoping that Dugoni can keep this level of entertainment going for a while.

Robin (robinmy) | 2466 comments I can understand when the ME or the investigator has some evidence that has to be seen by the detective to be explained. But many times they pull the cops in just to tell them what they found. They could do that over the phone.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3501 comments I see what you are saying, but I like the scenes with the ME.

My guess is in real life, they make a phone call or send a report. There aren't too many police stations near the ME,

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1205 comments I look forward to her next cases, and I'm a sucker for a HEA. I hope it is with Dan.
