Claire | 45 comments Well, really late check-in this week, but trying to stay on top of them! This week I was 11/50, so I am making progress through the challenge!

Finished:
Where the Drowned Girls Go - 1. A book published in 2022
⭐⭐⭐⭐1/2
I am always a sucker for this entire series. This one was a different book than the rest of the series, but that isn't a bad thing! I liked the change of pace, and I love how quick these are to read. I almost read it in one sitting. Honestly, the only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because I have loved some of the other books just a little bit more, but it was so close! It made me want to go back and reread the whole series in order.

We Run the Tides - 13. A book set in the 1980s
⭐⭐⭐
I think this got a lesser rating, just because I had really high expectations going in based on other people's reviews. It definitely has so many great coming of age themes, and according to other people, it was really sentimental for those who grew up in the 80s! Being a 90s baby, I think I missed some of the nostalgia connection. But that doesn't mean I couldn't relate to how girls treat each other and middle school dynamics. The characters definitely read older than 13 at some points, but overall I did enjoy it. I loved reading the ending and wished we got to see even more and get more explanation from the time jump.

Currently Reading:
Bewilderment
A Thousand Pieces of You
This Poison Heart
The School for Good and Evil
I paused on Life After Life because I had too many books checked out and the book was due. I will check it out again when I have fewer things on my plate!

QOTW:
Wow, that is a really difficult question. Given that I haven't met any authors, and I am not fully ensconced in literary twitter yet, I really don't know! I

Disney, for 1 or 2 days. We also would like to do day trips ..."

Clearwater Beach/St Pete Beach - very popular, but a great nice clean beach. Sparkman's wharf is in downtown Tampa and has a great outdoor space with lots of restaurants and walkability with bay views. You should check out Columbia restaurant- known for cuban food. I have so many more if you need some more ideas!
