Hiya, Team Caps! Thanks for volunteering to guide your team through a round of BookShelf Bingo! Your job, should you choose to accept it, will require a few things:
1 ~ Be our go-to person should we have any questions about your team
2 ~ Organize your teammate's weekly reads for each shelf/category so that the BSB Ninjas can quickly and easily verify and approve your stamp request(s)
2a ~ Create a master list in a post (preferably on the first page of your team's thread) and update it weekly or as often as necessary
2b ~ Post your team's stats on the Captain's Log prior to requesting a stamp
3 ~ Encourage and motivate your team (you may also ask to borrow Judithe's whip whenever necessary)
4 ~ Post regularly to ensure your team is communicating and on track each week
4a ~ Send them a PM and friendly poke if they haven't posted at least once a week, noted their book choice, and/or appear to have dropped out of webspace
5 ~ Send us a PM (Steph, Sandra or Judithe) should you need us for any reason throughout the game
Hi Lekeisha! I’ve sent a PM to Tori and Amanda letting them know the round has started and asking them to check in ASAP. Hopefully they’ll pop in soon.
No Amanda, you can only do the shelf that is called. All books for Bingo need to be at least 200 pages.
You need to pick a Free Space book, here are the rules:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
The easiest way is either the Best of Lists on the Group page or pick any book that is listed on the Group Bookshelves, over 5,600 to choose from.
And you need to pick a Sci-Fi Romance book, from the links:
https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/...
https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...
OR any book that has Sci-Fi Romance listed on its top shelves
Yeah... Is that ok.? And it was early when I read the rules. But I'll read em again. But I don't wanna mess u guys up or anything any worse. So just tell me what to do thats best and I'll do it. 😁 So sorry again.
Ok... So I found a book that's on the sci-fi romance list called Dark Horse by Michelle Delain. I know I am a little behind but I'll try and get through this one fast. And I'm sorry again for my mess up. And if there is anything else you need me to do just lmk. Thanx guys! Go Team! 😂 💕

Hey y'all! I'm so sorry,I usually check goodreads at work (I'm a librarian, so I use it as a tool for readers advisory a lot) but we've been out for snow for several days so it totally slipped my mind! This isn't my first round, and I'm excited to be playing again! I'll post my choice momentarily. If y'all don't want to be captain I can hop on it, it's totally up to y'all!
For sci-fi romance I'm going to do Barbarian Alien by Ruby Dixon ; it happened to come off hold for me today haha. It's been shelved 153 times.
Hey Tori. You are welcome to the captain hat. Any team name suggestions?. I listed a couple. I like 10 in to win it.
For my free-space read I'll do The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. It's on the SOS group's bookshelf under Young Adult.

For the free space, put me down for Psy-changeling book 1 Slave to Sensation by Nalini. And I found it on the #2 options with all the list. So this book we read in the middle of the others right? If I'm doing something wrong please feel free to fire me lol. Oh and the name sounds great to me! Happy ready. I hope we all picked some great ones!
Amanda, that's a great book to pick for Free Space! And yes you read Free Space as soon as you can but there isn't a time limit.
Sandra can we please have an edit to the name? It should be 10 it, not 10 in. I had a typo the last time i wrote it. Thanks.

Listen, I wouldn't say this series is good, but it's definitely entertaining. The idea of himbo blue aliens who care about nothing but pleasing their partners and taking care of their families is charming, and it has some silly but fun tropes that are executed reasonably well. It's also one of those series where you can just kind of turn your brain off and read, which is something I need sometimes.

One of the teens I work with recommended this book to me a while ago, and I'm glad I got around to it; it's sooo good. I'm usually not a huge mystery reader, but this one had me sucked in from the beginning. The puzzles seemed realistic, though the long game requires a little bit of suspense of belief. I really liked the mc, and the Hawthorne boys were interesting. I knocked half a point off for the romance though, I just didn't like how any of it was done. Also I want her best friend to be more involved in future books, she seems just kind of... there in this one. I'll definitely be reading the second one!
Haha nah, I just had a bunch of time off and a lot of housework. I do 99% of my reading as audiobooks at double speed, so that helps lol
Review: Dark Horse- Class 5 Series By Michelle Diener 5/5 Stars

FANTASTIC- I soon as I get a chance, I plan on reading book two and I think there is a third one also. It took me a good 4 chapters before I really got into it though. I even re-read some of them. But once I hit chapter 5 I was hooked. I would totally Love having an AI in my head. Sazo was funny, cute, and dangerous. An excellent trifecta. I was a little worried the romance part was going to take over the entire book, but it was so minimal, it was great. But I would have liked to learn a little more about Dev, maybe that comes up more in the next one. I can't wait to see what happens!
I'll pick the next in a few. I tried to make the Links all pretty like Tori did...but I'm having a mental block that is making me feel really old lol. But am I supposed to do anything else? I left the review on the Books review area too. If there's something else I need to do just lmk. Thanx!Oh any recommendations for the next one?
Nope, you're all good with that review Amanda! Thanks =DIf you like fantasy, I LOVE A Darker Shade of Magic by VE Schwab (It's tagged as alternate reality 38 times). Really anything by VE Schwab is an insta read for me haha.

Ooooh, yes! I also love that series (I own two copies of the series. I bought the original hardback covers, and then my best friend bought me the gorgeous anniversary paperbacks for my birthday!)
Hi ladies, i will get my 1st shelf review posted by this weekend. Finished it days ago, hectic week. Still looking for something on this new shelf.

COMPLETION POSTSci-fi Romance
Read:
by Ilona Andrews, finished 02/06, 4 starsReview:
I have loved some other Ilona Andrews series and decided to give this book a try. It didn't disappoint. Good drama and action. Loved the strong characters and the world building. It is light on romance but you can definitely feel the chemistry between Nevada and Mad Rogen. You can also see that Nevada loves her family and is very protective of them. As usual with an Ilona Andrews read I was drawn in and can't wait to see what happens next.

Ooh, I've been reading Andrew's Kate Daniel Series for a while, I'll have to give this one a try sometime!
Review: The Hazel Wood by Melissa AlbertShelf: Alternate Universe/Alternate Reality
Date read: 2/14/22
Rating: 4/5 Stars
This story gave the same kind of spooky surreal vibes as House of Hollow and What Big Teeth, both of which I loved. There were several reveals that I had a feeling for but didn't feel like I had guessed outright, which kept it really interesting. My favorite character was probably Finch, and I thought he got a really realistic ending for who he was. I definitely think it would have been fine as a stand alone, but I'm interested enough that I'll probably read the sequel.
Sandra wrote: "Amanda could you please add the shelf name to your review for Sci-Fi Romance."Ope, sorry I didn't notice that. Should I repost the stamp request when Amanda updates her post?

by Rachel Hawkins, finished 02/15, 3.5 stars Review:
3.5 stars. This was a new author for me. The blurb looked good so I gave it a shot. I liked the characters and the story well enough. It had drama, action, suspense and romance. Some parts were slow and others were predictable. Overall I think it was an enjoyable read but I wasn't drawn in enough to were I have to find out what happens next right away. If I read the next book in the series it will be a while.
For Favorite Couples I'm going to read The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi. It's been tagged 3 times.
Tori wrote: "Sandra wrote: "Amanda could you please add the shelf name to your review for Sci-Fi Romance."Ope, sorry I didn't notice that. Should I repost the stamp request when Amanda updates her post?"
No, don't post again Tori, just make sure it gets edited or Amanda can post her review again with the shelf name if she can't edit. :)
Hey guys... Just noticed. Am I supposed to make a bingo shelf? I'm sorry, I'm still figuring out the technicalities. Or link to the review? I'm so sorry. I feel like a dummy. Lol
No need for a bingo shelf and we don't like links to the review. That's why you post the review here on your team thread Amanda :)So in msg #29 all you have to do is edit it to include the shelf name ~ Sci-Fi Romance OR if you can't edit it, post it again and include the shelf name :)
You can pick any book that has Favorite Couples listed on the top shelves of the book.So on the book page on the right is the genres, scroll down to the link See Top Shelves. Then you have to look through the top shelves to find Favorite Couples, it must be an exact match.
Often the books on the links we provide have other books in series, if you want a particular book, go there & see if the book you want has Favorite Couples in its top shelves.
That's how I found my book for this shelf.
Favorite Couple one was hard! But I'm Going to go with Naked in Death by J.D. Robb. I found it in the Favorite Couples List. I hope that works.

This book was soo friggin cool and amazing and awesome and all the positive adjective I can think of. A few things that really stood out to me was the locations. I loved Prague. It sounds like such a cool city that I really haven't heard of much in other books. The other world also sounded like a very interesting place. And I loved the characters and world building were done beautifully. I had so many questions throughout the whole thing and even when I thought I had everything figured out, I was wrong. I can't wait to get to number two. I am a huge fan!!
