Grimm is a very calm and intelligent person. He's ridiculously perceptive and observant, noticing even the slightest of movements. However, he's also barely aware he's even in Ghostpeake - he's entirely oblivious to anything that would be considered important news. He couldn't tell you the king's name if he tried. While he's extremely attuned to the natural world, he is not at all used to actually interacting with people and is generally standoffish and antisocial.
Emotions are not his strong suit. He struggles with picking up on how people feel, and he barely displays any of his emotions himself. The closest you'll get to a laugh from him is a small smile. He doesn't know how to handle other people's emotions - he'll get very awkward and have no idea what to do. Grimm is a very serious person, more concerned with logic than feeling.and dips his wings

His left eye is a warm brown, while the right is ice blue. Several scars of various cover his body, the most visible being claw marks across his left cheek. He's both deaf and mute, and uses vibrations in the ground and air to feel things coming.
Grimm wears the same things almost every day. Basic adventuring clothes, light leather armor, and a heavy fur coat to keep warm in the wild. He's very uncomfortable in formalwear.the caged bird sings

Grimm's fighting style mainly relies on taking out enemies from a distance - he uses a bow and arrows, as well as a rope dart. He also carries several knives just in case.and his tune is heard

darius varon - 46 - male [he/him] - demisexual - elf - king of ghostpeakeDarius is a kind person. He's very firm in his belief that every being deserves to be treated with respect. He's very calm and gentle, and it takes a lot to get him visibly upset. He's very close with his family, especially his oldest son, and he cares very deeply for each of them. Darius is also a very self-sacrificial person to a fault - he'd take a bullet for someone he just met, and he's almost always willing to give people the benefit of the doubt. He has a habit of always putting on a brave face, putting the comfort of the people around him before his own. He's opposed to the use of violence and will often try to negotiate or talk things out with his enemies. However, he won't hesitate to passionately defend his values, and he has very little respect for people who would knowingly hurt another person and be okay with it.
Darius is the kind of person who doesn't tell anyone when something's wrong. He'd rather focus on anyone's problems but his own, and he has a tendency to bottle up any emotions he deems "undesirable". He prioritizes other people's comfort over his own and almost always tries to compromise - although there are certain things he's not willing to back down from. He's not good at talking about his own emotions. The constant stress of running a kingdom and keeping his family safe combined with all of his past traumas turn into this intense anxiety and hurt bubbling underneath his gentle, kind exterior.no one really knows his mind

he goes to lock the doorMost people in Ghostpeake know the story. Cadel Varon, the tyrant king, was overthrown by his own son. But many don't know the full story.
Darius was never originally the heir to the throne. He had an older brother named Tobias, the only friend he had growing up. Their father never cared about either of them, but Tobias shielded Darius from most of the abuse. Their mother had run away when Darius was young, presumably to somewhere beyond the mountains. Tobias was the only person protecting Darius. He was supposed to be the perfect prince, fit to take the throne after his father - and Tobias was practically perfect for the role. But he hated Cadel, and he wasn't afraid to show it, resulting in loud arguments while Darius hid in his room.
When Darius was eight, the royal family went on a trip down to the southernmost part of Whitehollow. Darius got bored and went exploring, and wound up getting lost in the Bear's Hold. He didn't know how dangerous it was until he was cornered by three of the bears. Tobias came running in with his sword, yelling for Darius to run - so that's what he did. He ran back to the city and hid for a full hour, waiting for Tobias to come back. But he never did. Until a hunter came into town, carrying his brother's broken body. He was gone.
His father blamed him for the death. He didn't care at all about Tobias, no - he was just mad he'd lost his perfect heir, and especially so that he'd just been left with someone like Darius. But that was all Cadel had, so he was prepped to be the next king.
There was always something he was doing wrong. He was too sensitive, too weak, too emotional. His father tried to mold him into a completely different person, but it never worked. At the same time, a rebellion was growing in the west. People were tired of Cadel's reign and the way he abused his power. A young assassin was sent to kill Darius when he was fifteen, to eliminate the Varon line - until she realized Darius was fully willing to die. He wanted to die.
So she gave him a chance.
The two escaped the castle together, and Darius joined the rebellion, even ended up leading it after a few years. He grew close with the girl who'd been sent to kill him, and they became very good friends. Her name was Adelaide. It took five years of bloodshed, but Darius led the rebellion and overthrew his father, taking the throne. From there, he promised peace. Fairness. And he did everything he could to fulfill that promise.
Adelaide was one of his closest friends, and eventually, they fell in love. She was just as good a ruler as him, if not better. They had three kids, and things were perfect for a long time. And then everything managed to go wrong in a matter of days.
Callym was poisoned, put into a coma for a full year - and on their birthday, no less. Darius was waiting next to their bed in the hospital when he heard screaming. He ran as fast as he could to find Adelaide dead, murdered, with her killer going after Aubrey. He defended his son, killing the attacker, but it was too late for his wife. He always blamed himself for it, for not being there in time. He could have saved her, he could have protected both of them if he had just been a little faster. But he can't show how much it hurts - he has to take care of his family first, to keep them all safe. He's been even more protective of them all since then, and he'd sacrifice his own life without hesitation to protect them.he is falling in love

He doesn't use his magic much, but he can control the wind and the weather - though the bigger scale he uses it on, the more draining it is to his energy and even his life.
Darius hates having to fight - he's fine with sparring and training, but actual fights are a nightmare for him. It brings up too many bad memories for him. However, he does always keep a dagger on him for self-defense, and when he has to fight, he largely relies on speed and hand-to-hand, using his agility and high endurance.we all know you're qualified

However, he has no patience for those who act like they're already perfect. Either you hate him or you love him. There's no in-between.

When the boy walked in, Cole was sure he was screwed. What he was not expecting was for Ezra to practically adopt him, taking him in and cleaning him up. He resented it at first, but Ezra grew on him after a while. The two were best friends for a few years, and it was Ezra who introduced him to theater. He loved it immediately. The stage, the stories... Really, it gave him a moment to be anyone but himself.
The two fell in love somewhere along the way, married a few years later. Now Ezra is a member of the council, and Cole is a fairly well-known actorand trophy husband. Everything wrapped up perfectly.in our idle town
