Glad you liked it -- this was your PIFM pick that "accidentally" also fulfilled the color challenge, wasn't it? So a good twofer!

Lance (sportsbookguy) | 412 comments I started They Said They Wanted Revolution: A Memoir of My Parents They Said They Wanted Revolution A Memoir of My Parents by Neda Toloui-Semnani but stopped at about 25% and won’t bother finishing. Wanted it to be more about the Iranian Revolution and how it affected families, but very little of that was written.

Angela (bookangel2) | 15 comments I'm enjoying All the Light We Cannot See, but it's slow going, I'm afraid!

The print is small and my eyesight isn't the best at the moment (cataracts and a macular cyst) but I'm determined to keep going. I'm not a fan of audio books, so that's not an option.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 800 comments A kindle might be an option Angela, you can alter the text size and the lightness?

Well, at least it's off the shelf.

〰️Beth〰️ (x1f4a0bethx1f4a0) | 475 comments Really enjoyed my second pick, Fear Icons Essays by Kisha Lewellyn Schlegel . Kisha Lewellyn Schlegel’s essays kept me wondering how she was going to connect her fears to different cultural icons. My thanks to the person who placed this in the neighborhood tiny library!

〰️Beth〰️ (x1f4a0bethx1f4a0) | 475 comments Finished my third pick The Apothecary Rose (Owen Archer #1) by Candace Robb . 5 /5 I like medieval stories and this was mostly historically accurate (author actually explains at the end what she changed) with interesting character arcs and a decent mystery. Definitely reading more of the series.

I really liked that book -- especially how important the availability of books was considered to be during that conflict.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 800 comments First book finished The Last Queen of England, I maybe should have put it down and tried again at a different time, as I really struggled to focus on it, even though I quite like genealogical mysteries, and I like the author.

I have knocked out four (don't know if I'll get the last one knocked out tomorrow but I will try...) -- "An Ordinary Life" was quite moving. "Matriarch" -- I have been torn about Queen Mary but came to admire her a lot more after I read this! I liked "The Second Mrs Astor" but wish it had gone farther into her life after "Astorhood." And "Poisoned Prose" was a fun entry to a series I very much like.

Off to "Southern Bred and Dead" tomorrow, I hope!!

Thanks for the picks!

Lance (sportsbookguy) | 412 comments Jennifer, KAT hasn’t picked for me yet and it’s the last day of the month. What are the rules on this? Do you then pick for me? Thanks.

Yes, if she hasn’t picked for you by the time I get home from work (2-ish today) then I will make the pick.
