SOLVED. YA Novel (Flip book) told from the perspective of two girls, one white, one black. [s]

I read this book 10+ years ago. One side of the book was told from one perspective, then you would flip the book over entirely to read the other perspective. I thought it was called "Alex the Great" or "Alexandra the Great" but I couldn't find anything. I remember one scene where one of the girls (I think the black girl) is changing a lightbulb and her mother accuses her of being on drugs. I think the white girl was a redhead and her name was Alex.
