Though everyone usually announces their book choices ahead of time, I want to remind everyone, anyway, not to forget to let me know their choices as soon as we have our new spot. Or as soon after as possible. It provides time to double check pages, etc.

I Hate You, Fuller James
Date Read: 1.4.2022
How it fits: Alterative- Food on cover

Review:
Bully romance. Academic and athletic. One of trope I see a lot in anime I guess is this one. Fuller is having bad grades so he needs to be tutored. So the principal basically blackmails Wren to tutor him. Her ex-bff is in an off relationship with Fuller and is pretty mean to Wren she is after all popular girl and Wren doesn't have friends anymore bc of her. Fuller is bullying Wren since 6th grade if I am not mistaken. He gives her a nickname and is terrible to her. Heck, when people saw him going to the library he told them he is hooking up with her and wanted her to fall in love with her. Idk I do love bully romance but this one was meh.

Review:
Homicide cop Jack Daniels has to deal with a person using poison to terrorise Chicago. She has to figure out who and why before more innocent people die. There was a lot of action and things happening that keep me interested. I really like Jack she's been through so much during this series. I'm looking forward to what's next for her.

Thanks, Alex! I have a question for you regarding this series. I read the first one a long time ago but didn't continue because someone told me the books really get violent. Is this true?

Review: I really liked the beginning half of this book when Anna and Lily were trapped in the mall after the earthquake. That whole section was so well done and had me intrigued. Both characters make the best out of their situation and I loved the humor. It was everything after that that I was not crazy about. They fell in love way too fast and I didn’t get it. They definitely do have chemistry but I needed more.
The side characters were fun and this book has aged really well for it to be twenty-one years old. I’ll definitely read the next book because this is a beloved series and I’m interested to see where it goes next.

Review: Ella Bridges is walking quickly through Kensington Gardens on what promises to be a wet day when she hears mewling. What she initially thought to be a small animal of some kind turns out to be a baby in a pram, hidden away from the path. The baby is reunited with his parents, but the nanny isn't disovered until the following day, dead. Thus begins a new sleuthing adventure by Ella, her inestimable aunt Margaret, and Ella's honorary uncle Baxter, a detective with Scotland Yard. What is unearthed during the investigation is surprising; even more so who all is involved, and how deeply it goes.
This was the 5th in this very well-done series, and it came out in 2020. I'm sure hoping that this not the last of it!
Bouchra and darkness, have you chosen your book for this round? Thursday is coming up quickly again. Thanks!

Review: Gabriel Allon is a world renowned art restorer, who has lived a double life in the Israeli Intelligence Service. Here he is living in Venice, doing art restoration work, and planning to marry.
After an explosion in Rome destroys the Israeli embassy, Allon discovers the existence of a dossier in terrorist hands that strips away his secrets, laying bare his history, thus limiting his effectiveness as a spy.
His old friend and mentor from the Israeli secret service recruits him once again to investigate the bombing. Drawn once more into the heart of a service he had once forsaken, Allon finds himself stalking an elusive master terrorist across a landscape generations in the making. The chase, covers a lot of ground and takes the reader from Rome, to Venice, Cairo, London, Paris, and Jerusalem.
I generally enjoyed the book, as I do most of the Gabriel Allon series. However, I found that the plot was mostly one of revenge as opposed to meting out justice, which didn't sit well. Hence only three stars.
Hi team, sorry, I have been reading but just haven’t had the time to sit at the laptop and link to the book. It’s the #7 in the Jack West Jr series (which I read #6 from last week).I’m almost halfway through, will try to finish tonight and send in the review.

Review:
Jack Daniels is back after catching a person poisoning many in Chicago. She thinks she has her life on a more even keel but criminals from her past and present have other plans for Jack and her loved ones. There were so many surprises that kept the story interesting. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Review: What an epic ending to an epic series. I feel like I have to take a step back and reread the book once again to give it its real worth, but then, what’s the point of rereading a book if I’m not rereading the whole series?
Matthew Reilly is an exceptional writer, and I can’t wait to see what he’ll write next, now that this series is over.
